Let's first understand the definition of FMEA, the potential failure mode and its impact, the risk management tools used in the design and development process in the automobile industry, and what is the purpose of FMEA? Focus on reducing costs, reducing customer complaints, delivering on time, improving product safety, reducing offline time, improving product reliability and so on. But on the other hand, does our FMEA help us achieve all these business goals?
When the production line has been formed and mass production has begun, but FMEA has not been completed, the problems of the production line will emerge one after another. When did the boss ask you to complete FMEA in order to meet the audit requirements? This is a situation where I have to do a simple audit FMEA.
Have you ever met a request from the boss before the design planning, asking us to do FMEA? You did it first, and then there was no more. I didn't remember it until the review was almost over. Where is our FMEA? Hurry up and finish before the external trial. There can be no unqualified audit. Is our FMEA the same as the control plan? Is it the same as the work instruction used on site? Let's get back to our topic, shall we? Excellent FMEA must serve our business objectives. The start of FMEA must be consistent with the project plan. The logical structure of FMEA must be clear. All employees should participate in the establishment of FMEA, and constantly update and optimize our risks throughout the product life cycle. Most importantly, we should regularly monitor the implementation effect and performance monitoring of FMEA.
