I was determined to be a successful professional writer when I was a teenager, but I was sent to an insane asylum three times. Before engaging in literary creation, he worked as a screenwriter, theater director and journalist, and wrote more than 6 lyrics for the most famous rock star in Brazil. Later, he indulged in studying alchemy, magic, vampires and other mysterious things, traveled around the world as a pimp, and had contact with some secret groups and eastern religious societies.
In 1977, while traveling around the world, he joined a Catholic organization named Ram. In 1986, according to the request of the organization, Paul coelho walked nearly 6 kilometers from the southern part of France along one of the three pilgrimage routes in the Middle Ages, and arrived in Santiago, Compostel, Galicia, Spain. Based on this pilgrimage, he published "Pilgrimage Prophecy Book" the following year, telling all kinds of experiences and inspirations he received during this trip, which is rich in religious color. This documentary work was a great success, and by 1999, it had been published in 117 editions.
inspired by a story in Arabian Nights, Paul coelho wrote and published the fable Fantasy Journey of the Shepherd Boys (formerly known as The Alchemist). It was this book that made him popular all over the world and issued 18 million copies. Up to now, Shanghai Translation Publishing House has published three volumes of Paul coelho's works, which are Fantasy Journey of a Shepherd Boy, Veronica Decided to Die, and I sat by the Piedra River and cried.
