"Aim high" comes from Zhuge Liang's Disciples Rules. The original text is as follows:
The husband should aim high, worship sages, abandon lust and stagnate, so that the ambition of ordinary people can be revealed and felt; Endure flexion and extension, remove details, ask questions extensively, except being too stingy. Although I have stayed for a long time, why bother to harm the beauty, why bother to suffer it?
A person should have lofty and lofty aspirations, admire the sages, abstain from lust and give up solidification, so that the sages' aspirations can be obviously preserved in themselves and deeply shocked in their hearts; We should be flexible, abandon triviality, consult people extensively, get rid of suspicion and meanness, so that even if we stay because of setbacks, it will not harm our good interests. Why worry about not achieving our goals?

Su Qin sighed: "My wife doesn't take me as a husband, my sister-in-law doesn't take me as an uncle, and my parents don't take me as a son. It's really the sin of the Qin Dynasty!" I can't leave the room, but I can read the whole book. When Su Qin studied Taigong's Yin Fu hard, whenever he was sleepy, he stabbed him with a cone.
This is the origin of the idiom "stabbing stocks". Su Qin's most brilliant time was to persuade the six monarchs to unite, which was a wonderful rhetoric. Later, Qi, Chu, Yan, Zhao, Wei and South Korea joined forces to fight against Qin, and then took the seal of the six countries and became the phase of the six countries.
