Famous sayings and knowledge
People are born with knowledge, knowledge and ambition.

People are born with knowledge, insight and ambition. Those who aspire to it are also guilty, but there is so-called emptiness, which harms them without suffering. ("Unveiling")

Appreciators are born with cognitive ability. Our eyes can see five colors, our ears can hear five sounds, and our mouths can taste five flavors. Our five senses can receive all kinds of information from outside and store it in our hearts. However, our hearts should be "empty", we should not be preconceived, and we should not hinder the acceptance of new things because of our existing knowledge. Because it is empty, it can be hidden. Virtual will not empty the existing memory and knowledge. Without a large amount of knowledge reserves, accepting and discovering new knowledge is probably just empty talk. Virtual is not virtual, not nothing, but not subjective. Everyone has worldly desires, which are innate. If you look at external things with your own personal feelings, just like wearing colored glasses, you can't see the real side of things.

Xunzi said, "The sufferings of ordinary people are covered in a song and darker than Dali." (Reveal) Human suffering is caused by one-sided consideration of problems. Good and evil, beginning and end, far and near, wide and shallow, ancient and present, people often only see one side of things, emphasize one side and ignore others. Because of the one-sidedness of knowledge, people are easily deceived, so Xunzi advocates understanding people's hearts. Sages are well aware of the harm caused by one-sidedness of knowledge, so they can take all things in the universe into their hearts and measure right and wrong by Tao, so that they will not be deceived. Then how can the heart know the Tao? It is said that "empty is static" ("Revealing the Secret"). Xunzi's theory of "virtual quietness" comes from Laozi's theory of "virtual quietness", but there are essential differences between them. Laozi's theory of "emptiness and quietness" is a Taoist way of understanding nature, which requires people to achieve the ultimate emptiness and quietness in their hearts. Laozi did not give a specific method to achieve virtual quietness. This method of body path relies on intuition, transcends the level of understanding, and is an unattainable realm. Xunzi specially discussed the method of "emptiness and quietness", abandoned the mysterious part of Taoism and turned it into a concrete and feasible method to understand foreign things.

In real life, people often dare not smell evil because of "selfish accumulation"; Rely on personal interests, observe different skills, and dare not smell their beauty "("Revealing the Secret "). Complacency will hinder the acceptance of new knowledge; The heart is not single-minded, "then white and black are in front of the eyes, and the thunder drum is on the side but not the ear"; If you lie down, you will dream, and if you steal, you will seek "(reveal the secret). Whether awake or asleep, consciously or unconsciously, our hearts are always thinking, but in the process of understanding, only meditation will be clear. Tibet and emptiness, one and two, motion and stillness are three pairs of contradictions of "emptiness and stillness". Xunzi believes that the three need not be absolutely opposed, but should seek unity in opposition. Without hiding, the process of learning is like a monkey breaking corn and finally getting nothing; Without time, we can't accept new knowledge. The mind can hold many things at the same time, so that we can absorb more information quickly, but at the same time we can concentrate on one thing, otherwise we will accomplish nothing. Only when you are calm can you see clearly, but if you think hard and don't put it into practice, you will never succeed. As Xunzi said, "If you know what you are doing, you will be sleepy." ("Unveil")
