First, create a situation to stimulate students' interest in reading
As the saying goes, "Interest is the best teacher". Piaget, a famous educator, once said: "A child is an active person, and his activities are dominated by interests and needs. All effective activities must be based on certain interests. " Nowadays, students would rather spend two hours watching TV and two hours staring blankly every day than spend 30 minutes reading. Therefore, in order to promote the effectiveness of students' reading, we must first stimulate students' interest in extracurricular reading. So how can we stimulate students' interest in reading? My first choice is to create situations, guide students into the wonderful world, create a rich scholarly atmosphere, and let students naturally approach extracurricular reading.
Chambers, winner of the Andersen Prize, believes that the most important thing is not technology, but whether we can pass on our enthusiasm as readers to our children and whether we can keep their enthusiasm for reading. The principle of guiding students' extracurricular reading is to be independent and open, to stimulate interest in the environment, and never to be forced. A family that likes reading is more likely to cultivate a child who likes reading, and a teacher who likes reading is more likely to bring out a group of children who like reading. In this sense, the initiation and maintenance of reading is the unconscious behavior of individuals in collective behavior. The formation of this unconscious behavior needs the active cooperation of schools, families and society, and strives to create a good reading atmosphere for students. To this end, I first create a good reading environment in the class, and post famous sayings and aphorisms related to books in the class, such as "Books are the ladder of human progress", "Books are still medicine, and good books can cure fools", "Reading a good book is talking to noble people" and so on, so that students can inspire themselves to learn by taking celebrities as examples. At the same time, I also make myself a "pioneer" in reading, take the lead in setting an example for students, use afternoon reading time to read with students, and post a list of reading conditions on the wall to compete with students. Teaching by example is more important than teaching by example. When the students saw me reading quietly with a book in my hand, they were also deeply attracted and picked up the book consciously.
Second, recommend reading materials and make clear the reading direction of students.
Although the students in the middle and middle grades of primary schools have a strong thirst for knowledge, their ability to distinguish right from wrong is relatively poor, and they often read blindly, which is easily influenced by unhealthy trends in society. Many students are addicted to comic books and ghost stories. Reading such works will make students gradually lose a quiet reading heart and aesthetic interest and ability in a reading process that only seeks excitement. Bacon said: history books make people wise, poetry makes people wise, mathematics makes people careful ... different books have different functions. Therefore, our teacher must be the leader of students' extracurricular reading, help students to do a good job in selecting materials, recommend suitable reading materials to students, and let students read selectively according to their own level, clarify the purpose of reading and set the direction of quasi-reading. This is particularly important in today's flood of books. In addition to the compulsory reading subjects stipulated by the school, I also set up a small book corner in my class to let students enjoy their books. At the same time, according to students' preferences and their age characteristics, I went to the school library to carefully select and borrowed many Chinese and foreign bibliographies suitable for them to read. In addition, in classroom teaching, I also consciously stimulate students' reading pursuit and guide students to read after class through the introduction of famous writers and their masterpieces, the suspense of a certain knowledge or problem, or a wonderful description. For example, after learning the fairy tale "Three Guarantees of Wheat", I recommended some interesting fairy tales such as "Piggy Snoring" and "The Adventures of Little Tiger" to students, so that they could read them selectively or try to write them by themselves. This organic combination gives extracurricular reading a direction; For classroom teaching, there is a good intellectual "background", so complementary interaction helps to form a virtuous circle.
Third, strengthen guidance and teach students reading methods.
When students have books to read, they should be taught reading methods to improve the efficiency of extracurricular reading. As the old saying goes, "Give a man a fish, but don't give him a fish". This sentence emphasizes the importance of methods. Reading methods mainly include intensive reading and extensive reading. The guidance of intensive reading methods mainly comes from the classroom, so that extracurricular activities can benefit from the classroom. The main methods of extracurricular reading are extensive reading, that is, rough reading and browsing. After all, students' reading time is limited. We can't ask students to finish every extracurricular reading carefully. Students should be taught to grasp the key browsing, skim the flowers and read quickly. For the parts of the book that we are not interested in, we promise to let students read important and interesting places by skipping, and skip other places. However, the guidance of intensive reading method needs us to implement it through reading guidance class. For example, Yang Peng's "Dad in the Pocket" is a series of books, with a total of nine books. When I was guiding the reading of the first book "Dad Becomes a Diary", I focused on guiding students to learn how to annotate such intensive reading methods, so that students can try to talk to the characters in the book and themselves, and read the whole book by themselves in this way until the whole set of books. While students feel the charm of words, they can gradually develop the good reading habit of "no pen and ink, no reading", the reading quality will be improved, and the harvest will naturally be rich.
Fourth, build a platform to enjoy reading.
Of course, it is worth mentioning that after reading some books, students will have certain language accumulation, so they will have the need and impulse to express themselves. It is also necessary to build a display platform to provide students with sufficient time and opportunities to tell stories they have read, heard and seen to their peers and report their reading results to their peers. This not only exercises children's oral expression ability, but also realizes "internal" language accumulation. There are undoubtedly various forms of reporting grades, from "talking before class" to "reading garden" wall newspaper, and then to various competitions, such as reading contest, story-telling contest, performance appreciation, exchange debate, and self-organized tabloid exhibition. It can not only let students taste the harvest and happiness of reading, but also exercise their expressive ability and cultivate their innovative consciousness. At the same time, more students can see other people's reading experience and achievements, and can also guide their reading direction from others' display, thus improving their reading level. In this way, students naturally change from interested reading to willing reading, and develop good extracurricular reading habits.
Writer Xiao Fuxing said: "Being able to love reading and know how to read is really a child's greatest wealth." A book is a ship that can take people on a long voyage. In order to educate students well and let them learn real knowledge better than we do, I think the first thing to do is to guide students to find the key to open the door to reading and let them read scientifically and effectively after class. Only in this way can he fall in love with books and consciously swim in the classic ocean.
