Therefore, the sage lives in doing things without doing anything and teaches without saying anything. Everything is done but never started, done but never relied on, and successful but never lived. If you only live in Ephesus, you will go to Ephesus.
If you don’t respect the virtuous, the people will not fight. Goods that are cheap and hard to find will prevent people from stealing. There is no desire to be seen, so that the people will not be in chaos. This is how the sage governs: empty his heart, strengthen his belly, weaken his will, and strengthen his bones. Just make the people ignorant and have no desires, and make the people know and dare not do anything, and then everything will be cured.
Heaven and earth are unkind and regard all things as stupid dogs. The saint is unkind and treats the common people as stupid dogs. Between the heaven and the earth, is it still like a coffin? If it is empty but not yielding, it will get better when it moves. It is better to keep in mind than to keep in mind.
The sky is long and the earth is long. The reason why heaven and earth can last forever is because they do not generate themselves, so they can live forever. Therefore, the sage Rui (withdraws) his body first, and his body remains outside. Not for being selfless? Therefore, it can be done privately.
The five colors make people blind, the hunting in the fields makes people crazy, the rare goods hinder people's travels, the five flavors make people feel good in the mouth, and the five sounds make people deaf. Therefore, the sage's rule is based on the belly and not the eyes, so he takes this instead of the other.
If it is crooked, it will be complete, if it is wrong, it will be correct; if it is hollow, it will be full, if it is empty, it will be new; if it is small, it will be gained, and if it is too much, it will be confused. Therefore, the sage is the pastor of the world. If you don't think about yourself, you will be successful; if you don't see yourself, you will be wise; if you don't cut yourself off, you will be successful; if you are not cautious, you will be able to grow. My husband doesn't fight, so I can't fight with him. In ancient times, what is the so-called "completeness of music"? All sincerity comes back.
Those who are good at deeds will have no traces; those who are good at speaking will have no flaws; those who are good at counting will not need to make plans; those who are good at keeping things closed will have no ties but cannot be started; those who are good at knots will have no ties but cannot be solved. Therefore, the sage is always good at saving people and never abandons people or wealth. This is called enlightenment.
Therefore, good people are the teachers of good people; bad people are the resources of good people. If you don't value your teachers and don't love your talents, even if you know a lot about it, you will be greatly confused. This is called the key point.
Knowing the male and guarding the female are the streams of the world. For the world's stream, constant virtue will never leave. Persistence and virtue never leave, return to the baby. Knowing its whiteness and keeping its humiliation, it is the valley of the world. For the valley of the world, constant virtue is sufficient. Permanent virtue is enough to return to simplicity. Know its whiteness and guard its blackness, this is the way of the world. It is the style of the world, and its virtue is not too great. Constant virtue is not too late, it returns to the infinite. The simple powder is used as a weapon, and the saint uses it as an official. Husband has a great system without cutting.
I want to take over the world and do it, but I see that it is impossible to do so. In the world, a divine weapon is something that cannot be done. Those who do it will lose it, and those who insist on it will lose it. Therefore, things may move or follow, they may be hot or blown, they may be strong or frustrated, they may grow or fall. Therefore, a sage should get rid of extremes, greatness, and extravagance.

Do not leave home to know the world. Don't peek into the window to know the way of heaven. Those who go out far away know the weir. This is because a sage knows it without doing it, is famous without seeing it, and is accomplished without doing it.
The sage always has no heart and takes the hearts of the people as his heart. Those who are good are good, and those who are not good are also good, and good is achieved. Those who believe believe it, and those who do not believe it also believe it. When a sage exists in the world, he is the one who clears the heart of the world. The common people pay attention to his eyes and ears, and the sage is coughed up by him.
Rule the country with integrity, use military force with surprise, and conquer the world with nothing. How do I know this? There are many taboos in the world, but the people are poor. The people have many sharp weapons, but the state is in a coma. With many people's wisdom, strange things arise. Dharma and objects are abundant, but thieves abound. This is what the sage said: I do nothing and the people become themselves. I like to be quiet and the people are upright. I do nothing and the people become rich. I have no desires and the people are simple.
The government is dull and the people are honest. Its government is in check, its state is lacking. Misfortunes are where blessings depend; blessings are where misfortunes lie. Who knows the extreme? Is it unrighteous? The good ones become strange again, and the good ones become monsters again. People are obsessed with it, and it lasts for a long time. Therefore, the sage is square but not cutting, honest but not prudent, straight but not crooked, bright but not bright.
Governing a big country is like cooking small dishes. If the world is founded on Tao, its ghosts will not be gods. It is not a ghost but a god, and its gods will not hurt people. If it is not a god, it will not hurt people, and a saint will not be hurt either. Husbands and wives do not hurt each other, so their virtues return to each other.
To do nothing, to do nothing, to have no taste. No matter how big or small, report grievances with virtue. The picture is as difficult as it is easy, and it is as big as it is detailed. The difficult things in the world are made easy, and the great things in the world are made easy. Therefore, the saint is not great in the end, so he can become great. Those who promise lightly will have little faith, and everything that is easy will be difficult. Therefore, it is difficult for a sage to do it, so there is no difficulty in the end.
It is easy to maintain when it is safe, easy to plan when there is no warning, easy to judge when it is fragile, and easy to scatter when it is subtle. To treat it is to prevent it from being chaotic, and to treat it to prevent it from being chaotic. The tree that hugs the ground is born from the smallest millimeter; the 90% platform is built from the ground; the height of a hundred feet starts from the bottom of the foot. Those who do it will lose it, and those who insist on it will lose it. This is because the saint does nothing. Therefore, there is no defeat; there is no persistence, so there is no loss. What the people do is always based on success and failure. Therefore, it is said: If you are careful about the end as well as the beginning, there will be no failure. Therefore, the sage does not want what he wants, but does not value hard-to-find goods; if he does not learn, he will repeat the mistakes of others. It can assist the nature of all things, but I dare not do it.
The reason why Jianghai can be the king of a hundred grains is because he is good at handling it. Therefore, if a sage wishes to reach the people, he must follow his example; if he wishes to precede the people, he must follow his example. The former residence is high and the people do not care about it. The people in the front do not harm it. The whole world is happy to recommend it but does not hate it. Isn’t it because there is no dispute? Therefore, no one in the world can compete with him.
What I say is easy to know and easy to do; but few people can understand it and few can do it. A husband's words have his own principles, and his affairs have his own king. It is just ignorance, because I don’t know. Those who know me are grateful, then I am noble. This is why the saint is covered in brown but pregnant with jade.
It’s up to you whether you know or not. If you don’t know, you are sick. This is why the sage is not sick; he is sick because of his illness; this is why he is not sick.
If the people are not afraid of fear (power), then great fear (power) is coming. Don't hate where they live, don't hate where they live. I never get tired of it, so I never get tired of it. Therefore, the saint knows himself and sees himself, loves himself but does not value himself. So go from that and take this.
Those who are brave will be killed, and those who are brave but not will be killed. Both of these may be beneficial or harmful. Who knows why Heaven is evil? Therefore, it is still difficult for saints to do this. The way of heaven is not only good at fighting, but also good at responding; it is good at responding without saying anything; it comes without being called upon; it is also good at planning.
The sky net is vast, sparse but not lost.
The way of heaven is like the one who stretches the bow. The one who is high suppresses it, the one who is low lifts it. Those who have more will lose it, and those who have less will make up for it. Therefore, the way of heaven is to have more than enough harm but not enough to benefit. This is not the case with the way of man, where there is not enough loss but more than enough benefit. Who can have enough to take it and enshrine it in heaven? Only the Taoist? Therefore, a saint cannot exist, and a successful person cannot exist. If this is the case, he does not want to see the wise.
No one in the world is soft and weak compared to water, and no one can attack the strong one first, because it is impossible to defeat it. Softness is better than hardness, and weakness is better than strength. No one in the world knows this, but no one can do it. This is why the sage said: If you accept the punishment of the country, you are called the master of the country; if you accept the ominous punishment of the country, you are called the king of the world. Quite the contrary.
If there is a big grievance, there will always be residual grievances. How can we do good? Therefore, the sage holds the right contract and does not blame others. Therefore, there is Desi Qi, but there is no Desi Che. Husband has no relatives in heaven, but always associates with good people.
Trustful words are not beautiful, and beautiful words are not believed. A good person does not argue, and a person who debates is not good. A person who knows is not knowledgeable, and a person who is knowledgeable does not know. The sage does not accumulate. Since he thinks that others and himself have more, he has given more to others and himself. The way of heaven is beneficial but not harmful. The way of a saint is to work without fighting.
