Dazhu Mountain is famous for its towering height and beautiful scenery. Because it stands in the north and south of Xiaozhu Mountain, there is an ancient saying of "two beads embedded in the clouds", and it is listed as the first scenic spot in ancient Jiaozhou. There is a temple on the top of Dazhai, the main peak, called "Shimen Temple".
It was built in the fifth year of Dading of the Jin Dynasty (1166), covering an area of ??more than 400 acres. It has the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Main Hall and the East and West courtyards, which are dedicated to the four heavenly kings and Buddha respectively. The temple gate is made of three stacked huge stones, hence the name Shimen Temple. And because there is a spring in front of Shimen, which is as clear as jade and bursts like pearls, it is named Yuquan, so Shimen Temple is also called Yuquan Temple.
There are many bamboos in the temple, all over the ditch slopes. There is a forest of pagodas on the hillside to the south of the temple, including 12 granite stone pagodas with a height of 2.6 meters and different shapes. It is said that they were erected one after another in the Jin Dynasty. They were destroyed during the "Cultural Revolution" and were restored to their original appearance in 1992. There is a lying elephant stone in front of the temple and a Motie Temple in the west of the temple, which were later destroyed. Looking south from the temple, you can see that the majestic peak is towering and extremely steep. The huge stone on the top of the peak is like a big Buddha sitting upright. On the east side is a stone that looks like a young monk and a golden monkey. He is bowing to the big Buddha. It is lifelike and is called "stone worship". It is called "Golden Monkey Worshiping Buddha". The poet Wang Xinjian once visited Shimen Temple and wrote: "I walk through the mountains and enjoy the sea breeze, and I can't bear to step on the fallen trees when I'm looking for seclusion. The ancient temple should be in the bamboo forest, and the beautiful valleys vaguely linger around the Buddhist bells."
Shimen Temple was destroyed in the war in the 1940s. , is now planned to be renovated and opened to the outside world. The second peak - Shannan Peak is 330 meters high and shaped like a building, so it is called "Wanghai Tower". Climbing from the sunny slope, there are many historical sites along the way. There is a "Zhushan Stone Chamber" between the cliffs on the east side, which is 3 meters deep, 2.5 meters wide and 2.5 meters high. It has door frame grooves and carved stone sills. The four walls and floor of the room are all polished and smooth. The stone chamber is adjacent to the stream, and the original iron bridge connects it. The original "Ma Yi'an" under the cliff no longer exists.
The top of the mountain is a wide platform. Looking up into the distance, you can see the sea from east to west. The eastern section of Dazhu Mountain is located near the sea, with Xiangzi Gate, Nantian Gate, Hell King's Nose and other scenic spots. To the west of Xiangzi Gate, there is an upright mountain, often surrounded by white clouds. It looks like a hat from a distance, so it is called "Hao Mao Peak". There is Xu Shu Temple on it. The temple is very small, but it is very famous and is respected by the people and fishermen from all over the country. There is a shallow spring behind the temple. It is said that it can cure diseases and improve health, so it is called "Shenquan".
The grottoes in Dazhu Mountain are the most precious. Most of them are relics from the Sui and Tang Dynasties. They are small grottoes, commonly known as "stone houses". They are hewn on tall rocks and contain reliefs of Buddha statues. There are three well-preserved Jiagou Xishan Grottoes, Jiagou Nanshan Grottoes and Shiwugou Grottoes. Jiagou Xishan Grottoes are engraved with 30 relief Buddha statues, which are in the artistic style of Sui and Tang Dynasties. The Jiagou Nanshan Grottoes are slightly larger than the Xishan Grottoes. They have 21 carved Buddha statues, which are severely damaged and blurry. There are 17 Buddha statues and 6 "flying sky" and "cloud pattern" patterns carved in Shiwuggou Grottoes, which are well preserved. Dazhu Mountain also has natural landscapes such as Nv'er Stone, Eagle Stone, Turtle Stone, Monk's Stone, and Bajie Stone, which are vivid and lifelike. People often say: "The mountain is not high, but it is famous if there are immortals." The ancients called Dazhu Mountain "a famous mountain on the coast". Its "name" is not "immortal" but "cloud". The mountains of Dazhu are tall and straight, sea clouds arise according to the mountains, and sea fog fills the mountains. When the clouds are clear, Dazhu Mountain is wrapped in the seemingly absent cicada veil, and the peaks are like sisters who have just woken up, dressed in dawn clothes, and still have a somewhat careless demeanor; when the clouds are thick, the peaks may stand in the vast sky The sea of ??clouds, some flying cloud waterfalls, or cutting rolling cloud waves, is like thick ink splashed from the sky, painting a majestic picture scroll. When the fog opens, the peaks and mountains are like beauties walking out with their tents raised; when the fog closes, they are like Fell into a beautiful dream.
The clouds are fluttering, and every mountain peak and every steep ridge seems to be dancing in the wind; the clouds are colorful and red, and the flowers on the mountain are in full bloom. Dazhu Mountain is magnificent, and it seems to be a spectacular tower in Yunxiang. garden; when every hilltop is covered with white and crystal clear clouds, Dazhu Mountain really becomes a magical string of jade beads. At this time, you will think of the poem by Zhou Yuzhi of the Qing Dynasty: "The numerous shapes are hidden in the mist, who will thread the nine curves through the thread? Where does the goddess go when she is tired of swimming, her twin beads are thrown by the water clouds." At the east foot of Dazhu Mountain, there is a valley , known as Zhushan Xiugu. This valley is 5 miles long, with streams flowing in the valley and flowing into the artificial lake at the foot of the mountain. The clear water and green mountains embrace each other, and the green peaks are reflected in the clear water. Visitors walking around the lake and entering the valley along the stream are like walking into a painting.
Spring comes early in the beautiful valley of Zhushan Mountain. Tomb Sweeping Day is not yet here, and cherry, apricot, and peach blossoms are in full bloom at the entrance of the valley. After the Qingming Festival, on the banks of streams and hillsides in the valleys, delicate yellow forsythia flowers cluster in clusters, and white Tangli flowers bloom one after another. The spring breeze blows, the flower branches sway, the golden waves surge in the valley, and the snow waves rise and fall. Going deeper into the valley, there is a flowery peak standing vertically, dividing the valley into two valleys.
Continuing along the valley to the north, I saw red azaleas blooming on the shady slopes to the south from the bottom of the valley to the top of the mountain. Even on the cliffs and cliffs, there were lush flowers and graceful shadows. Standing at the foot of the mountain and looking up to the top of the mountain, the "waves of flowers" are emptying out into the blue sky, making people feel that the flowers are fragrant flowers floating down from heaven; standing on the top of the hillside and looking down, the "waves of flowers" are rolling and filling the valley. The flowers, fireworks, and mist remind people that these flowers are the auspicious purple light emanating from the depths of the earth.
Walking along the stone steps among the flowers, you are surrounded by torrents and waterfalls of flowers, and people are wrapped in the whirlpool of flowers. In April, the beautiful valleys of Mount Zhushan are filled with flowers and people, and the flowers and tourists merge into a tourist wave. Climbing to the top of the mountain, you can see that there are several valleys in the south with azaleas in full bloom. From a distance, they look like clouds and clouds.
There is an ancient temple in a mountain stream on the north side of Dazhaiding, the main peak of Dazhu Mountain. It is named Shimen Temple because it has two majestic standing stones as its gate. Shimen Temple was built in the fifth year of Dading of Jin Dynasty (1166). At that time, the temple had buildings such as the Main Hall, the Heavenly King Hall, the Bell Tower, the Drum Tower, and the East and West verandahs. There is a clear spring under the huge stone on the right side of Shimen. The water is as green as jade and is named Yuquan. Therefore, people also call Shimen Temple Yuquan Temple. In the mid-1940s, Shimen Temple was destroyed by war. In 1995, the Jiaonan Municipal People's Government invested in rebuilding the main hall and tomb pagodas of Shimen Temple.
The environment of Shimen Temple is very beautiful. There is a gurgling stream in front of the temple, and there is a lying elephant stone by the stream. A little further away, there are several graceful peaks. On the east side of the temple there is the "Lion Peak", on the west side there are "Bodhisattva Meditating", "Monkey Picking Immortal Peach", "Zhu Bajie Carrying His Wife" and other strange stones. On the south side of the temple, the "Eminent Monk Lectures"... are vivid and lifelike. It is Dazhushan Reservoir. A clear water surrounds the ancient temple, making the ancient temple even more beautiful. Visitors hold fishing poles here to catch fish swimming in the water, as well as the mountains and clouds in the water. After leaving Shimen Temple and heading south, you will enter Shimen Stream surrounded by peaks. There are green pines and green vines in the stream, deep and lush; a mountain stream twists and turns, leading to high and low stone-bottomed clear pools. It is clear all the way and whispers softly all the way. In the summer rainy season, there are still waterfalls hanging on the cliffs. The flowing water is like silver silk, flowing softly over the sloping stone slopes, sliding down the stone walls covered with green moss, and falling into the green pool, splashing silver pearls and jade. Grains... In ancient times, Shimenjian was a place where literati often visited and gathered.
There is a huge stone on the west side of the stream, on which is engraved a poem written by Wang Wujing, a scholar of the Ming Dynasty: "There are people here in the deep mist and cold mountains. Cup after cup, brewing tea in the light of the stream." To this day The handwriting is clear. He also left a poem "Shimen Nanjian": "Looking at the clouds on the stone and sitting at the sunset, I forget to return to the place where the wild flowers are fragrant. Where are the people when the clouds come and go? Under the sound of springs, the green is faint." Gao Feng, a man from the Qing Dynasty, wrote after passing through Shimenjian: "The flowers on Jia'an Mountain are red and soaked in the water, and the sunset is reflected in the fish rafts (zeng). Don't ask the people of Qin for their flax, this scenery is no longer Wuling." These poems describe the scenery in Shimen Stream at that time. Walk up the mountain from Shimen Stream, pass Aoyu Stone and Jianzi Peak, and come to the front of Mayi Mountain, where there are the ruins of Mayi Nunnery. According to records in "Zengxiu Jiao Zhi" during the Republic of China, celebrities such as Chen Zhongju of the Jin Dynasty, Zhang Qingyuan of the Yuan Dynasty, and Zhao Mayi of the Ming Dynasty once lived in seclusion here. On the cliff behind the nunnery, there is a suspended stone chamber with an exquisitely carved door, two meters high, with an orphan-shaped top, stone door frame and carved stone threshold. There is a lotus stone with a lotus pattern engraved about 3 meters in front of the stone chamber. "Zengxiu Jiao Zhi" records that there was an iron bridge connecting the stone chamber and the lotus stone in ancient times. People can climb the lotus stone and cross the iron bridge to enter the stone chamber. The three characters "Yunxiao'an" are engraved on the mountain wall on the east side of the stone chamber. There are also stone inscriptions "Yuquan Guanzhiyuan" signed by Li Qingdao and others on the stone wall, as well as the inscription "Taiqingyan" inscribed by Sun Rong in the fourth year of Dade in the Yuan Dynasty (1301).
There is a "flying stone" on the east side of the nunnery, with the three characters "Chaoyang Cave" engraved on the forehead of the stone. There is a "faith stone" in front of the nunnery. Under the stone, there is a stone grinding the bottom, revealing the atmosphere of the human fireworks in the past. There is a platform on the high ground on the west side of the nunnery. The stone building foundation is very regular. Standing here, you can look at Lingshan Bay to the east and Long Bay to the west. This is the former site of "Wanghai Tower". Dazhu Mountain had a period when Buddhism flourished in ancient times. There are ruins such as Shimen Temple, Tomb Pagoda Forest, Mayi Temple Ruins, Dizang Temple, Juhua Temple, and Motie Temple in the mountains. It is said that there are as many as 99 grottoes in the mountain. Currently, there are 3 well-preserved Jiagou Nanshan Grottoes, Jiagou Xishan Grottoes and Shiwugou Grottoes. The grottoes in Dazhu Mountain are unique among the remaining grottoes in various parts of Shandong and have attracted the attention of Buddhist academic circles. Many scholars came to visit and study with great interest. After inspection, experts believe that these three grottoes were built during the Sui and Tang Dynasties, and some are said to be from the Northern Qi Dynasty.
Dazhu Mountain has many strange peaks and rocks. When you drive through Dazhu Mountain on National Highway 204, you will see a stone turtle on the south hillside struggling to climb to the top of the mountain. According to legend, it was originally a golden turtle in the Queen Mother's Yao Pond. Taking advantage of the Queen Mother's peach party, it slipped along the Tianhe River to the East China Sea and climbed to Dazhu Mountain. Looking at the north hillside, you will see a high stone that looks like a girl carrying a basket. There is also the "Eagle Stone" standing on the top of the mountain in the south mountain, and the "Monk Stone" in the north mountain wearing a robe and holding a Zen staff.
In the middle of Dazhu Mountain, there is a peak that looks like the four masters and disciples of Monk Tang who were walking on the road to the West to obtain Buddhist scriptures. A mountain peak to the north looks like a flying horse in the sky. There is also a mountain peak, which is like a vivid ghost-fighting Zhong Kui. Peaks such as "One Finger Reaching the Sky", "Zhongfeng", and "Immortal Bridge" are all uniquely created by nature for the sake of wonder and innovation.
There are many stones in the mountain that seem to have spirituality. The more you look at them, the more you feel that they are both still and moving. Strange stones such as "Qingzhao Suoju", "Sage Asking for Directions", "Monks and Taoists Playing Chess", "Guan Gong Asking for War" and so on are all vividly displayed.
