This is the epitaph of Arthur C. Clarke, the most famous science fiction novelist.

Sir Arthur Charles Clarke (1917-2008) was a famous British and Sri Lankan science fiction writer, popular science writer, scientist, and the founder of international communication satellites. Arthur Clark was born in Minehead, Somerset, western England, on December 16, 1917. As a child, he loved looking up at the stars and reading old American science fiction magazines. After graduating from secondary school and Huish Grammar School, unable to afford university, he took a job as an auditor in the pensions department of the school board.

Clarke's most famous science fiction work is "2001: A Space Odyssey". This book was made into a movie of the same name by director Stanley Kubrick in 1968 and became a classic masterpiece of science fiction movies.

Clark died in Sri Lanka on March 19, 2008, at the age of 90. Before his death, he had just finished proofreading his last book, "The Last Theorem," which was scheduled to be published in 2008. His obituary in New Scientist magazine read: "With the death of Sir Arthur C. Clarke, we have lost one of the last of the visionaries and most eloquent dreamers of the pre-space age.
