? Last night, I listened to Fan Deng's lecture on Wang Yangming. I was so excited that I couldn't fall asleep. I had a lot on my mind. If I thought about it carefully, I would rather type it out to integrate it or clarify my thoughts.
? In the past year or two, Wang Yangming has suddenly become popular, and I found that even Soros is a loyal supporter of him. Related books have long occupied the bestseller section of bookstores, but I have never been interested in buying a copy and reading it. The reason is that I don’t have the habit and motivation to read. The second reason is that I am afraid that the best-selling author’s interpretation of the original work is too simple, which is not only not conducive to getting started, but also easily leads others astray. Of course, the most critical point is that I feel that I have insufficient experience and knowledge. I'm afraid that I won't get the essence of it even if I learn it at this age. I should settle down for a few years and then start to get in touch with his ideas. Maybe I will gain something. However, after listening to Fan Deng's explanation, I gave up these worries in an instant and realized that these worries are nothing more than nothing. It's all just my own imagination. Whether a book is worth reading or whether a concept should be touched on now is something you can only know after trying it.
? It’s definitely not meaningless to learn something today that I can’t understand at the moment. The truth will never be figured out in one day. When I was a child, I memorized countless famous quotes and poems, most of which were memorized by rote. , I look back and think of these words at a certain point in the future, but suddenly I have an enlightenment. It is like planting a seed that I have never seen before. Only by waiting for it to break ground and grow one day can I see what I got. , the process from knowledge of hearing and seeing to knowledge of virtue that Wang Yangming talked about is actually this principle. The prophet will then gain the Tao, and the Tao itself can probably only be left to time.
? One thing that comes to mind is thinking dilemma. People are often trapped by their thinking and habitually do what they think is right. However, they do not know that always binding themselves with their own values ??will often cause great difficulties for themselves. Take the matter of self-growth as an example. One method that many people like to adopt is to set a number of so-called excellent options for their future, and then try to find an optimal solution. However, the process of setting up these options is like setting up on the ground. Nail one pillar after another, and finally create a cage for yourself, trapping yourself step by step.
? In Wang Yangming’s system of psychology, getting rid of difficulties and seeing the true self is an extremely important proposition, and the word conscience can be said to be its top priority. He believes that conscience is the heart. The true self, what most people call following the desires of the heart, is actually just the body of external desires. It is the false self that has deceived the conscience rather than the true self. The most interesting discovery after understanding Wang Yangming’s views is that his ideas are actually no different from those of many celebrities at home and abroad, both ancient and modern. , and at the same time, it is basically the same as the Tao of Heaven taught by Laozi; in "Cai Gen Tan", "Knowing that the body is not me, how can troubles invade", this "body" itself refers to the body of external desires; and regarding conscience and external desires The distinction between the self and the ego mentioned by best-selling author Eckhart Tolle in "The Power of Now" is also very similar to the core of Wang Xue's thought. Eliminating the false and retaining the true may be the best summary of this kind of thinking.
? And this process of eliminating the false and retaining the true is itself an extremely difficult and arduous practice. Zengzi said that I should examine myself three times a day, and later generations will follow suit. But why are there so few people who actually do it? Because people often have to go through a long process to truly achieve the state of three reflections a day from the beginning of conscious Vipassana self-reflection. In the first three days, they may not have the consciousness to self-reflect once in three days. In the later stage, through gradual training and strengthening, the frequency of self-reflection will gradually increase, and finally it will be possible. It can be improved step by step to three provinces a day, and this process of perfection is absolutely inseparable from deliberate practice. As the saying goes, knowledge and action are one and the same.
