Tracing back to its roots, its ancestor was Huo. Huozhou is the place where the founder of the Huo surname at home and abroad was founded. According to records in books such as "Surname Compilation" and "Guangyun", the origin of the Huo surname can be traced back to the 11th century BC, more than 3,100 years ago in the early Western Han Dynasty. Named Shuwu) Yu Huo established the Huo State (today's Huozhou City, Shanxi Province). The Huo Shu ruins monument discovered in Huozhou not long ago is another historical evidence of the existence of the Huo Kingdom in history. After Shu Wu was granted the title, he was called Uncle Huo. After King Wu of Zhou destroyed the Shang Dynasty, he not only wanted the nobles of the Shang Dynasty to live and work in peace and contentment, but also guarded against their rebellion, so he moved some nobles to Shandong and Shanxi, and ordered Uncle Huo and Uncle Guan to , Uncle Cai and others are responsible for supervision. They have great power and are called the "three supervisors". By the time of King Cheng of Zhou, Uncle Guan and Uncle Cai colluded with King Zhou's son Wu Geng to rebel, which was the "Guan Cai Rebellion" in history. After the failure, Uncle Huo was implicated and was deposed as a commoner, but the Huo Kingdom still existed. Uncle Huo's son succeeded him as king. Until the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, that is, in 661 BC, the Huo State was destroyed by the Taigong of Jin, and the Huo land returned to the Jin Dynasty and was called Huoyi. Huo Jun's descendants took their original country name and called them Huo. Therefore, ancient Huozhou was the original birthplace of the Chinese people with the surname Huo, and it was also the place where the Huo family established their surname, multiplied and moved there.
With the vicissitudes of history, the number of Huo clan members in Huozhou today is very small, only a handful. However, the Huo family lives in Gaodui Village, Yaodu District, Linfen City, which is very close to the Han Dynasty. The descendants of General Qi have a memorial tablet to Huo Guang, and a couplet summarizing Huo Guang's life hangs on the doorpost of Huo Guang's ancestral hall. They have multiplied and lived here for more than two thousand years for generations.
