Neighbors should help each other. There is a saying in the Three-Character Sutra: "A harmonious neighbor is worth more money; a harmonious people is worth money." I once had this idea that neighbors help each other, which makes me even more convinced that as long as neighbors are harmonious, all people can be harmonious. Build our harmonious home.

Our family has a special neighbor. She is an old lady who is over 70 years old this year. Her sons work out of town and rarely come back. It is very inconvenient for her to live alone. So my diligent mother would go to the old lady’s house next door to wash the dishes and mop the floor as soon as she finished her chores every day...

One Sunday, my mother and I went to the old lady’s house and found that The old lady is sick. Without saying a word, my mother held her breath and carried the old lady on her back, and I quickly followed. My mother carried the old lady on her back and hurriedly asked me to hail a taxi, but it took a long time and she still couldn't hail a taxi. Mom gritted her teeth and told me to walk. So my mother carried the old lady to the hospital. After the doctor's diagnosis, the old lady needed to stay in the hospital for observation. In the days that followed, after my mother finished her work at home, she went to the hospital to take care of the old lady. After the old lady was discharged from the hospital, my mother also told me to help the old lady clean the house frequently. I am also a little girl who likes to help others, so after listening to my mother’s words, I often use my time after school, Saturdays and Sundays to help the old lady work.

The old lady treats us mother and daughter. I can’t thank you enough. She often said to us: "You are closer than my relatives. If it weren't for you, I might have died at home." My mother and I both laughed. The old lady’s children came back occasionally and treated us as family members, always inviting us to go out for a walk. Our two families are like a big family. The harmonious and happy atmosphere has infected the people around us, and everyone gets along very harmoniously.

“A harmonious neighbor is worth more money; a harmonious people is worth living together.” This Three-Character Sutra says it well. As long as we can exchange hearts for hearts and live in harmony, then our society and our common home will be more harmonious and beautiful.
