in the bible, the word "seven" means perfection. Jesus didn't say anything superfluous, and he didn't refute what the enemy ridiculed. Everything he said on the cross was very important. Commemorate the "Good Friday" of Jesus' crucifixion every year (some people call it "Good Friday"), and these seven famous sayings are spoken in many places; There are also seven people to talk about, each explaining one sentence. These seven sentences include salvation, redemption by Christ, glory and crown.
First, the first sentence
"Now Jesus said,' Father! Pardon them; Because of what they do, they don't know' ... " (Luke 23: 34)
The first sentence on the cross is "the way to forgive sins". Therefore, when we see the cross, we should know that human sins are forgiven because of the crucifixion of Jesus.
the second sentence
"Jesus said to him,' I tell you the truth, you will be with me in paradise today.'" (Luke 23: 43) One of the two robbers who were crucified with Jesus mocked him. The other rebuked the one who mocked Jesus. This man repented because he heard Jesus preach "the way to forgive sins" on the cross. Therefore, he prayed to Jesus with a trusting heart and said, "Jesus, please remember me when your kingdom comes!" (v. 42) He didn't understand the truth of being saved by faith. He always thought that he was guilty of a great crime and deserved to die. He only asked Jesus to "remember" him, and to remember him when he came to the country again. But to his surprise, Jesus said, "Today you will be with me in paradise". He was saved because he believed that Jesus had achieved salvation on the cross; He also believes that Jesus is the son of God. He has not sinned, and he must rise from the dead. Otherwise, he wouldn't have said "arrival of the country". Since he believes that Jesus will come back to establish the country, he certainly believes that he will be resurrected. Because of this simple faith, sincere trust and simple prayer, he was saved. Unfortunately, many people have believed in Jesus for decades and still don't know whether they will be saved! "Faith" means sincerely believing in Jesus' crucifixion and his resurrection from the dead.
Third sentence
"When Jesus saw his mother and his beloved disciple (John) standing by, he said to his mother,' Mother, look at your son!'" And he said to the disciple,' Look at your mother! From then on, the disciple took her to his home. (John 19: 26-27)
On the cross, Jesus did not forget his family, let alone his beloved disciples. Jesus was filial to his parents since he was a child, and until the last moment, he left his mother to John to take care of. This shows us that the cross not only shows salvation, but also points out filial piety and love This is our proper attitude and duty. It's a pity that some Christians only love God, but they don't love their families. Such a person, please be inspired by the example of Jesus, love God and love his family.
the fourth sentence
"About the ninth hour, Jesus shouted,' Eli! Eli! Rama Saba Patani?' That is to say:' My God! My god! Why have you forsaken me?' "(Matt. 27: 46)
By saying this, Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of Psalm 22: 1. God has never forsaken Jesus. It was not until Jesus was crucified that God abandoned him. Why? Because he carried the sins of people all over the world (including the past and the future) and was crucified together. God saw the sin of the world, so he abandoned Jesus for a while. This is the most uncomfortable moment in Jesus' spirit.
the fifth sentence
"After this, Jesus knew that all things had been done, and in order to fulfill the scripture, he said,' I am thirsty'." (John 19: 28)
The phrase "I am thirsty" has just fulfilled the prophecy of Psalm 22: 15. When Jesus said "I am thirsty", "there was a vessel full of vinegar and put it there; So they dipped sponge in vinegar, tied it to hyssop and sent it to his mouth. " (John 19: 29) This time it was vinegar, and the previous time it was wine. Please don't confuse us! Jesus shed precious blood on the cross and was extremely painful, especially in this "thirst". The first man, Adam, sinned, and God punished him and told him to "sweat his face to make a living" (Gen. 3: 19). Since then, human beings have been suffering from "thirst" because of sin. This "thirst" of Jesus compensates our thirst, so that we can drink the living water of life and never thirst again. Jesus suffered physically in order to satisfy our hearts (John 4: 14).
The sixth sentence
"When Jesus tasted the vinegar, he said,' It's done' ..." (about 19: 3)
Thank God! When Jesus was crucified, everything was "done". He kept the whole law for us in the world and fulfilled the requirements of the law in order to redeem us from the curse of the law (Gal. 3: 13). Of course, this "success" includes many aspects of "completion", but the main thing is the completion of redemption and salvation. Because of Jesus' crucifixion, our sins are forgiven. As long as we are willing to trust, we will be saved.
Seventh sentence
"Jesus cried out,' Father! I put my soul into your hands.' When he said this, he died. "(Luke 23: 46)
This sentence just fulfilled the prophecy of Psalm 31: 5. We have to die, because we don't want to die, and we are all afraid of death; But the death of Jesus was different. He voluntarily "committed" himself to God, because he once said, "No one took my life, but I gave it up. I have the right to give it up and I have the right to take it back. " (John 1: 18) His last sentence on the cross was a little different from what he said before. The front is just "say", while the fourth sentence (Matt. 27: 46) and here are "shout and say". He took his last breath and shouted, so that everyone could hear him and know that he laid down his life for the world.
If we combine the order of the fact that Jesus was crucified with the seven famous sayings he said on the cross, we will see the Old Testament prophecy fulfilled everywhere. Of course, what Jesus said was to fulfill the scripture. Although this is from Jesus himself, it is amazing that even what the enemy did and said came true. Please remember that the Romans nailed him to the cross, not the Jews nailed him; It is carried out in accordance with Roman law, not Jewish law. In this way, the prophecy is fulfilled, which makes us feel more surprised, so that we can't help but believe that the Bible is inspired by God, so that we can be saved and blessed by faith!
