Drowning first aid method
After the drowning patient is rescued from the water, the first thing to do is to determine whether the patient is conscious.
If you are unconscious, ask someone to call 120 immediately and ask for help from medical staff. Then have the patient lie down, touch the patient's carotid artery, and determine whether the chest is rising or falling.
If the carotid artery pulse disappears and the chest does not rise and fall, it proves that breathing and heartbeat have stopped, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation should be performed immediately.
Chest compressions and artificial respiration are performed alternately. Chest compressions are generally performed 30 times and then followed by 2 artificial respirations. Before artificial respiration, the airway must be opened and foreign matter in the airway must be removed. Then perform artificial respiration. After 5 rounds of chest compressions and artificial respiration, quickly determine whether the heartbeat and breathing have recovered. If recovery does not occur, continue CPR.
If the patient is conscious when rescued, first ask the patient to change his clothes and keep warm. You can pat the patient's back to promote the cough reflex and help cough out the water aspirated into the trachea, and then Send to hospital for treatment immediately.
