The Xiguan Mosque in Lanzhou was built by Muslim merchants and is commonly known as the "guest temple". It is located at the west end of Xiguan Street in Lanzhou City (the west end of Linxia Road, the intersection of five roads). It was first built in the Hongwu or Yongle years of the Ming Dynasty. According to historical records, it was rebuilt in 1684 (the 23rd year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty). It was expanded during the Yongzheng period, and in the early years of the Republic of China, ancillary facilities such as street pavilions and bathing rooms in the courtyard were expanded.
