National governance has always been the first thing that rulers should care about, and it has always been like this. For the rule of man, monarchs in past dynasties have different views, some of them regard the people as the people. For example, in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Qin and Shang Yang advocated the five techniques of controlling the people and weak the people. There are also people as parents. For example, Zheng Wei, a minister in the Tang Dynasty, once said, "Water can carry a boat and also overturn it."
This is the political proposition of China in different periods. Japanese Tokugawa Ieyasu once put forward the view that "it is a political secret to make farmers half dead". Is it right or wrong?
I think this is one-sided, because:
Right side
The country and the people are the unity of contradictions. This is determined by the inherent nature of the country. As soon as the country appears, it represents the interests of the ruling class. On the contrary, the people are the ruled class. From this perspective, strengthening the power of the ruling class and weakening the power of the ruled class is bound to be conducive to the consolidation of political power.
The wrong side
Of course, this law is not eternal. Because according to Marx and Engels' materialistic viewpoint, both sides of contradiction can be transformed. The secret of the law of unity of opposites lies in both unity and opposition. Excessive repression of the people will inevitably lead to the awakening of the uprising ceremony. For example, in the Qin dynasty of our country, the people were already very weak, but they still could not stop the uprising.
