The issue of speed and slowness is not directly mentioned in "The Analects", but a passage recorded by Confucius in "Zilu" fully reflects the dialectical relationship between speed and slowness.
Zi Xia was the governor of Zhuo Fu and asked Confucius about government affairs. Confucius replied, "If there is no desire for haste, there will be no small gains. If there is no desire for haste, there will be no success. If there is no desire for small gains, great things will not be accomplished." "Haste makes waste" is the best explanation of the dialectical relationship between fast and slow.
