"Short Notes on a Quiet Window"
There is such a couplet in it: I am not surprised by favor or disgrace, watching the flowers blooming and falling in front of the court; I have no intention of leaving or leaving, watching the clouds rolling and relaxing in the sky.
The meaning of this sentence is that when doing things for others, you can treat favors and disgraces as normal as the blossoming and falling of flowers, so that you will not be surprised; only if you treat the change of positions like clouds and clouds, you will not be surprised.
Most people today feel that life is very tiring and overwhelmed. Everyone is very puzzled why society is constantly progressing, but people's workload is heavier, their spirits are becoming more empty, and their thoughts are extremely impetuous. Indeed, society is constantly advancing and becoming more civilized. However, one of the shortcomings of civilized society is the increasing separation between man and nature. Human beings sacrifice nature at the expense of nature. The result is that they are stuck in the quagmire of the world and cannot extricate themselves, chasing external etiquette and material desires without knowing what true beauty is. The temptation of money, the disputes over power, and the ups and downs of officialdom make people worried. Right or wrong, success or failure, gains and losses make people feel happy, sad, surprised, surprised, worried, or afraid. Once it is difficult to realize what they want, once it is difficult to succeed in what they want, and once their hopes become empty and become phantoms, they will feel lost, frustrated and even frustrated. Lost ambition.
Loss is a kind of psychological imbalance, which naturally depends on the spiritual phenomenon of loss; frustration is a psychological tilt, the emotional and profound feeling of loss; loss of ambition is a kind of psychological failure, which is Complete decadence is the ultimate expression of loss and frustration. To overcome this kind of loss, frustration, and ambition, we need to remain calm and stay indifferent.
A couplet, with only a few words, profoundly expresses the attitude towards things, fame and fortune in life: not happy with gains, not worried about losses, not surprised by favors and disgrace, not caring about leaving or leaving. . Only in this way can you feel peaceful, indifferent and natural. One looks at the three words in front of the court, and hides in the small building to form a unified one, and cares about the meaning of spring, summer, autumn and winter. The three words in looking at the sky also show the broad sentiment of enlarging the vision and not seeing the same things as others; a sentence of clouds rolling and relaxing There is also the lofty realm of a man who can bend and stretch. It is really similar to Fan Zhongyan's attitude of not being happy with things and not being sad with oneself, and it is quite similar to the broad-minded and romantic figures of the Wei and Jin Dynasties.
It is easy to say whether you are favored or disgraced, but it is very difficult to do it. We are all ordinary people, and the variety of the mortal world and the color of the world make everyone's heart beat. Fame and wealth are all what we want, so how can we not be worried or afraid, neither happy nor sad? Otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many people who spend their entire lives chasing fame and fortune, and there wouldn’t be so many people who would be frustrated and disheartened. The culture of demoting officials in ancient my country is a clear proof of this. The key is how you treat and deal with it. First of all, we must clarify our own survival value, which means that we should lose our fame and honors, and be selfless in our hearts. If you don’t have too many selfish desires in your heart, how can you worry about gains and losses? Secondly, recognize the path you are taking. Don’t be happy with your gains and don’t worry about your losses. Don’t care too much about gains and losses, don’t overly value success or failure, and don’t care too much about what others think of you. As long as you work hard, struggle, do what you like, and follow your own path, what do the opinions of the outside world mean? The reason why Tao Yuanming-style Wei and Jin characters were so open-minded and romantic was that they were indifferent to fame and wealth, did not take pleasure in things, and did not take sorrow in themselves. Only then could they write free and elegant poems with a tranquil and peaceful state of mind. This can be described as the true indifference of favor and disgrace, leaving and leaving without any intention. And I think it was Wu Zetian of the Tang Dynasty who brought this spirit to its extreme. After his death, a monument without words was erected to record his merits and demerits through the ages, leaving them for future generations to comment on. Not a single word, everything is romantic. This is just another kind of open-mindedness, another kind of indifference to favor and disgrace, and no intention to leave or go.
Only by being able to tolerate favors and disgrace without being surprised, and to leave things alone, can you have peace of mind, be content with yourself, be optimistic and enterprising, and look at life with a smile. Comrade Zhao Puchu, a well-known social activist and outstanding patriotic religious leader, wrote in his posthumous works: He was happy to live and died with no regrets. The flowers are still blooming and the water is flowing. Where am I? Who can rest in peace? The moon is bright and the breeze is refreshing, no need to worry about it. This fully reflects a kind of optimistic and lofty spiritual realm of being unfazed by favors and disgrace, leaving and leaving without intention.
In a word, I am not surprised by favor or disgrace, just watch the flowers blooming and falling in front of the court; I have no intention of leaving or leaving, just watch the clouds rolling and relaxing in the sky. It is a true hero who is free and easy, and a true celebrity who is romantic!
