"Eight" refers to the Eight Rings. "precept" has the function of stopping evil and preventing evil, and is the "amulet" of dharma body and wisdom. "Fasting" means not eating in season, that is, not eating after noon. "Fasting" has the function of purifying body and mind and keeping away from delusion. "Guan" is Guan, that is, closing the door of life and death for all beings. Because the key to life and death of all beings is lust and diet. Lust is the root of life and death, and diet is Shoshinosuke. Full of warmth and lust, we should fast in order to suppress lust. This is the significance and focus of the precepts of the Eight Official Pavilion.
? "On Honesty" and "On Great Wisdom" said: If you are banned by the Eight Guanting Pavilion, you should read the article "Banned by the Eight Guanting Pavilion" (see appendix), which means that if you are banned, you don't have to go to the temple. In terms of time, if something happens in mid-June, it can be moved forward or backward. For the convenience of lay people, the Dharma Temple in Thailand is consecrated by the Baguan Pavilion every Saturday morning, so that the consecrated people can live a quiet spiritual life in the temple for one day and one night, and the effect is very good. If a layman has received the precept of Bodhisattva, according to the precept of Buddhism and Bodhisattva, he must observe the Eight Official Pavilion on the sixth day of every month (the eighth, fourteenth, fifteenth, twenty-third, twenty-ninth and thirtieth days of the lunar calendar).
Eight Commandments of Guanting Pavilion, including Five Commandments and Misha Ten Commandments (only one of the ten commandments is not to hold money). If you keep the five precepts, you can become a good man without entering the three evil ways, but you can't live or die. And Bajie can leave the cycle of life and death; Accept the precepts of the Eight Guanting Pavilion and cultivate wisdom to prove the four Siraitia grosvenorii; Adhere to the precepts of the Eight Guanting Pavilion, recite the Buddha, and make a vow to live in the Elysium, and you will be born in the middle.
First, don't kill. Studying Buddhism at home is the first priority. If you kill at home, the home will become a killing field, and ghosts will not go far, so it is difficult to guarantee peace. Can't "kill" (designated as selling and killing). If you can't grow vegetarian food at present, you can eat vegetarian food. In order to cultivate compassion, you can buy ready-made meat to eat. The bad news of killing people is the most terrible. Once Hua Bao was often sick or short-lived. Karma after death often falls into evil ways.
Second, do not steal. Taking what you don't have is called stealing. Whoever doesn't give you money and turns it into his own by any means is guilty of stealing. From the law of causality, if you plant charity, you will get wealth; If you steal, you will get the fruits of poverty.
Third, it is not Sanskrit. "Sanskrit" is pure, "non-Sanskrit" is impure behavior, which refers to lust. The five precepts only prohibit "lewdness", and it is not a violation to live in a secular couple. What is needed here is the precept of becoming a monk, that is, "Don't commit adultery." However, it is not difficult to do it only on the sixth day of every month. This is a good cause of life, and it is a matter of life and death. The Shurangama Sutra says, "If you want to get rid of it, the dust can't come out." It means that it is impossible to surpass the six divisions in the wheel of karma unless the lust is cleared. When the master talked about the twelve causes in Xuanhua, he said that ignorance refers to lust, ignorance is the cause (environment) that leads to behavior, and behavior is the sexual behavior of men and women. It is this desire that leads to the reincarnation of the yin body. "Don't commit adultery" in Bajie contains high requirements. The Buddhist scriptures say: "One day and one night, if a real person (Tathagata) holds the heart, does not commit adultery, does not read the atrium and ventricle, practices Sanskrit, does not commit adultery, does not lust after sex, such as purity and abstinence, and devotes himself to reading." This is to be consistent with the Buddha. If you have lust, fasting is not clean. Because of the high requirements, although it is only one day and one night, it has great merits. At home, bound by the precepts of the Eight Official Pavilion, husband and wife should be separated into rooms and beds to keep the three realms clean.
Fourth, don't swear. Including four items: (1) Slang: Slang is like saying that you are enlightened, hope for fame and fortune, and will fall into hell after death, and it is useless to repent; Secondly, cheating others for personal benefit is also a bad cause, and will eventually get retribution. In addition, the convenience of lying is conditional, and it must be beneficial to people and things rather than selfish. For example, if you see a rabbit running past on the mountain, the hunter will chase you and ask you where the rabbit is going. When the rabbit runs west, you tell him to run east. The purpose of doing this is to protect students, that is, to facilitate nonsense. (2) Bad mouth: curse others with vicious language. This is self-inflicted and self-inflicted. (3) Two tongues: playing with right and wrong and sowing dissension, especially the faults of four people (at home, becoming a monk and two people), Buddhist precepts are listed as heavy precepts. More attention should be paid to it. (4) Qi language: refers to rhetoric, including yellow and obscene language.
5. Do not drink alcohol (including not taking drugs). Drinking is not a crime in itself, but it can make people lose their minds and break the law. In ancient India, there was a male layman who got drunk one day and violated the drinking ban. When I saw my neighbor's chicken, I stole it, ate it, broke the law and killed it. Neighbor women came to look for chickens. They said they didn't see them, so they made false statements. See a beautiful neighbor, rape her, commit adultery. Because drinking leads to the extinction of the five precepts, people are punished by national laws and die of heresy. Drinking medicinal liquor must be diagnosed by a doctor, and it can only be drunk if it is incurable. Selling wine makes people promiscuous, and Buddhist precepts are listed as heavy precepts. Drug abuse harms oneself, family and society. People who study Buddhism can't learn.
Sixth, it is not timely food. "Not in time" means not eating during the day to the next morning, that is, after noon. Not eating after noon is called fasting. Although fasting is not a commandment, it is abstinence and the most important commandment in Baguanting. Vegetarianism does not mean fasting. "Fasting" means having a clean heart and getting rid of clutter. Physiologically, people who eat after noon are dirty and unclean. So Buddhists in the third world don't eat after noon. Fundamentally speaking, having a clean body, mouth and mind is called "fasting". Don't ask to become a monk at home. To purify the three industries, we must fast.
As for the calculation method of "Japan-China" (noon), it is best to take the Beijing meridian (that is, east longitude 1 17 degrees) as the base. Every time the longitude (east longitude) decreases by 15 degrees, the time between Japan and China will be delayed by 1 hour. Based on this, the daytime time in Chengdu, Sichuan Province can be postponed to 12: 45, to 12: 30 in summer and to 1: 00 in winter, and all localities can calculate by themselves. Generally speaking, you can have lunch at 1 1: 30 Beijing time.
After noon to the next morning, you can only drink all kinds of sugar water, honey, fruit juice (filtered without residue), ginger soup, salt water and glucose water during this time. However, milk, soybean milk, sesame paste, cakes, pasta and so on. Drinking is not allowed by law, but eating is illegal.
Seven, no fragrant flowers, no sesame oil; Don't sing and dance, don't listen to it. "Flower people", crowns and garlands made of fragrant flowers, such as bracelets, necklaces and earrings used by modern people, should not be used in the precepts of Baguanting. The purpose of this commandment is to let everyone in the family be born, so dress simply. If you still cling to these decorations, how can your heart be clean? It is a habit of tropical people to "apply sesame oil to the body". In the precepts of Baguanting, all perfumes, powders and balsams should not be used, because this kind of beauty cosmetics can easily induce lewd thoughts and make the three realms unclean.
"Singing and dancing" means singing and dancing. Don't deliberately watch and listen during the fast in Baguanting. Including not watching movies, TV, etc. Because since I yearn for being born, why should I crave the entertainment in the world? You should enrich your spiritual life with "Zen Yue" and "Fa Le".
Eight, don't sit on a high bed. In the past, the "beds" in the western regions included chairs. What is a "big bed"? Master Ou Yi's Notes on the Ten Commandments said: "The foot of the bed is one foot six inches high, and the foot is not suspended when sitting. If it exceeds this amount, it is called high. But it can be turned, and it is called wide after turning. It is tall and wide, that is, it is called big. " According to this explanation, luxury goods used by modern people, such as Simmons, silk curtains, embroidered pillows and brocade quilts, should not be used during the fasting period in Baguanting. Otherwise, it will easily affect the purity of body, mouth and heart. Only by looking down on material enjoyment can we improve our spiritual realm; Only when you get used to a simple and simple life can you improve your practice.
The above two are media that pursue material enjoyment, lead to excessive lust, affect the purity of body, mouth and heart, and even make human nature retreat, so they are listed as banned.
First, get rid of the disease. Pharmacologists' classics say that whoever wants to relieve the pain of the disease must accept the precepts of the Eight Guanting Pavilion.
Second, remove the obstacles to crime. Anyone who wants to repent of his sins must accept this commandment and fast. "You Po Sai Jie Jing" says that all criminal obstacles can be eliminated except the five evils.
Third, avoid catastrophe. Those who want to be safe and auspicious for themselves and their families and never suffer from all kinds of unexpected trouble must fast. According to the Classic of the Four Heavenly Kings, if you keep this fast, evil spirits will inevitably stay away, and you will be safe here. Therefore, if we can fast on the sixth fasting day, the blessings will definitely increase and the disaster will inevitably be eliminated.
Fourth, stay away from evil. If someone has never behaved properly, and now he is afraid that he will fall into three evils, he must endure this fast. According to the Ten Commandments, those who hold the Eight Guanting Commandments will not fall into hell, hungry ghosts, beasts and Asura (Asura is a sentient being, mixed with good and evil, and can also return to evil).
Fifth, the blessings are rich. If someone is worried that rice will starve because of the chaos in the world, then they must fast. According to the Buddhist sutra of protecting purity, if you fast for one day, you will get a reward of not worrying about food and clothing for 600 thousand generations.
Sixth, rapid achievements. If people who are old and weak, who are afraid of dying soon, or who are in prison and dying, want to achieve extraordinary results in a very short time, then they must endure this fast. The practice of the precepts in Baguanting lasted only one day and one night, and the time was very short, but the merits were extremely remarkable. According to the scripture, Youtuo was jealous of the dying Mrs. Wang. The day before he died, he asked for the amulet of the Eight Official Pavilion and ascended to heaven immediately after his death.
Seven, the afterlife is noble. If someone wants to be honored in the afterlife, he must fast. According to the Buddhist scriptures of King Puda, a king's entourage once fasted with the king for one day and was reincarnated as a prince after his death.
Eight, born in heaven. If you want to live in the afterlife, you must accept this commandment. According to the scripture, one day, a woman, with a very solemn appearance, had a superior appearance, and both heaven and men were surprised to see her. Shi Tiheng got this blessing by asking the goddess what kind of good deeds she had done in the past. Tiannv wrote a poem and replied, "I used to be a Buddha in Jia Ye, but now I was born in the sky and get this correct reward."
Nine, help the fate of the past. Those who want to live in the pure land must abide by this commandment. According to the scripture, if someone abides by the eight precepts and comes back with this merit, he will be willing to live a paradise and will certainly get a middle-class life.
Ten, the joy of dying. Those who have the kung fu of chanting Buddha, but have no heart and mind, and are worried that they will not be sure of their death at the end of their lives, must fast. According to the classic of pharmacists, with this kind of good root, if the fasting person hears the name of the pharmacist Tathagata, at the end of his life, there will be eight Bodhisattvas to welcome him to the pure land.
XI. Good health. If you are happy to see the Buddha and want to get this solemn appearance in the afterlife, you must fast. According to the Brahma Sutra with Long Claws, a Brahman asked the Buddha what kind of good deeds he had done in the past and obtained such a solemn and beautiful appearance. The Buddha said that if you hold the Eight-Point Pure precept (that is, the Eight-Point Pavilion precept) for one day and one night, or if you often follow Master, you can get this reward.
Twelve, the way to become a Buddha. Those who want to become Buddhists quickly must accept this precept. "Agama" said that if you stick to the precepts of eight official pavilions, you can get a leak and enter the city of nirvana; If you live in the Four Saints, you can do whatever you want.
