He started his directing career in 1950 by directing the short film "The Day of the Fight". In 1953, he directed his first film "Fear and Desire". In 1960, he directed "Spartacus" and won the 18th US Golden Globe Award for Best Feature Film. In 1965, he won the 37th Academy Award for "Dr. Strangelove". Nominated for the Like Award for Director.
