Ba Man Zi visited the ancient tomb
The tomb of Ba Man Zi, which has been closed for more than ten years, will be reopened.

The cemetery is very empty.

From No.299, Minsheng Road, Qixinggang, Chongqing to No.2, a door hung with "Lizhong Furniture" descended 40 steps, and the reporter came to the location of Ba Man Zi's tomb downstairs in the adjacent Yuhai. Several workers are decorating the ceiling. Mr. Zhang, who is in charge of site construction, told reporters that they entered the site at the end of last year, and now the project has been completed by 80%. According to the requirements of Yuzhong District Cultural Management Office, they will complete the inspection and acceptance before the end of March, so as to ensure that the newly renovated Eight Man Zi Tomb is open to citizens and tourists in front of Tomb-Sweeping Day.

The reporter saw at the scene that in front of Ba Man Zi's tomb, more than 200 square meters of space has been expanded, and the cemetery exhibition hall, management room and tourist bathroom have been built. The whole wall decoration adopts gray-green cultural stone to match the bluestone arch of the original tomb. The top of the exhibition hall is made of heavy-duty wood structure, which integrates the indoor lighting with the fighting style of traditional buildings in Bayu. The wall on the right side of the exhibition hall is a whole floor-to-ceiling glass, which not only enhances the indoor lighting but also expands the visual space.

Act as a spiritual carrier

Ba Man Zi's tomb is hexagonal, and the words "General Cemetery, Man Zi, Eastern Zhou Dynasty" are engraved on the stone tablet in front of it. The inscription on the tombstone is "Ji Dan in February of the 11th year of the Republic of China" and the inscription is "Mao Xin, only Chu Rong County", but Mao Xin was a famous revolutionary in191/kloc-0. He was the mayor of Xiong Kewu and the second commander of Sichuan Army. After liberation, he served as the Minister of Justice of Southwest Military and Political Committee.

According to historical records, the behavior of Ba Man Zi deeply touched the king of Chu, so he dedicated his head to the State of Chu. His remains were buried in Qixinggang, Yuzhong District, Chongqing, northwest of Zhongxian County and Xisan, Enshi City, Hubei Province. Some people question whether Ba Man Zi's "real body" is buried in Qixinggang Cemetery, but more experts and scholars believe that the symbolic meaning of this tomb is greater than the actual meaning, and it has the function of spiritual carrier.

According to legend, Ba Man Zi's tomb was built in the Warring States period and has been repaired in later dynasties. According to Wang Erjian's poem (in the 16th year of Qianlong, AD 175 1 Renba County-now Chongqing-magistrate of a county), 240 years ago, Ba Man Zi's tomb was still in the natural environment of "Chongqing is above" ... and the spring grass was green every year. The largest modern building was in 1922, when Dan Mao Xin wrote an inscription. According to historical records, the cemetery at that time was quite large, surrounded by walls, and there were many poems and couplets engraved in it, the most famous of which was written by Zhao Langyun, an idle man in the country, "The overlord is long gone, and Zi Chu has never left an inch of land; The barren grave is still towering, and the general is still in Sanba Town. "

1929 After Chongqing was built, the city walls were demolished and roads were built. The valley of the first section of Ba Man Zi's tomb is filled, and the cemetery is placed under the road fort. After liberation, a section of Qixinggang Road was completely repaired and "widened and leveled". Since then, Ba Man Zi has been buried in the stone arch hole under Minsheng Road.

In 1960s, Ba Man Zi's Tomb was listed as a cultural relic, which was provided by the grassroots street cultural workers in Yuzhong District at that time. 1992, announced by the municipal government as a municipal cultural relics protection unit. However, in the upsurge of urban development and construction at the end of last century, the tomb of Ba Man Zi in a special position was "hidden" by many tall buildings.

Will continue to transform.

In recent years, many experts, scholars and non-governmental people have made unremitting appeals to improve the situation of Ba Man Zi's tomb, and deputies to people's congresses at all levels and members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference have repeatedly submitted suggestions for protection and repair. Around 2003, experts from Chongqing Cultural Relics Bureau proposed to build a "just visiting" from Tongyuanmen to Ba Man Zi's tomb, fully displaying the historical relics of Ba Man Zi and continuing the historical context. This plan was strongly supported by a district-level leader in Yuzhong District at that time, and was also affirmed by many experts. But for various reasons, it was not implemented in the end.

In Yuzhong District Cultural Management Institute, Xu Xiaoyu, deputy director, showed the reporter a sculpture design of General Ba Man Zi and the environmental renovation plan of the cemetery finalized by Chongqing Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology in March 2009. Xu Xiaoyu told reporters that what is being implemented now is part of this plan. After the completion of the "environmental renovation" of the cemetery, they will also arrange the inscriptions on the life of General Ba Man Zi and the poems of General Ba Man Zi in the past dynasties in the exhibition hall, and strive for social support to arrange the theme painting and calligraphy exhibition on General Ba Man Zi.

Fame spread throughout Bayu.

For thousands of years, the heroic feat of General Ba Man Zi who died for his country has been widely celebrated in Bayuzhou and Chongqing. In the eighth year of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty, Emperor Taizong remembered the loyalty of General Ba and changed his hometown "Linzhou" to "Zhongzhou" (now Zhongxian). In the Song Dynasty, people built a temple for General Ba in Zhongzhou City for future generations to pay tribute to. This temple used to be called Yongzhen Temple, and later it was called Wang Ba Temple. Every year on the third day of the third lunar month (the anniversary of Ba Man Zi's death), a grand "March Meeting" is held in Zhongzhou City to commemorate his achievements. According to the historical records of the Ming dynasty, "during the session, the lanes are blocked by banners, Jinguming Street and Caiting Brocade are opposite each other." Today, there are many historical sites and place names named after General Ba Man Zi in Zhongxian County.

At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Yan Yan, a famous soldier in Linzhou (that is, Zhongxian County) of Ba County, said: "There are only decapitated generals in our country, but no surrendered generals!" Carrying forward Ba Man Zi's heroism has become a famous saying throughout the ages. Even during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, Chongqing celebrities who faced the indiscriminate bombing of Japanese planes repeatedly extended in their speeches within the party-"China has had beheaded generals since ancient times, but there was no general who surrendered."

Now, in the "Chongqing Historian Hall" in Chaotianmen, the statue of General Man Zi in "The First Movement: Biography of Heroes through the Ages" is placed in a prominent position. Among many large-scale landscape sculptures in Chongqing, the image of Ba Man Zi is placed in an important position in all works involving the theme of Ba Yu culture.
