Douglas macarthur, a famous American strategist, was awarded a five-star general by MacArthur in 1944. During World War II, he served as commander of the US Far East Army and commander of the Allied Forces in the Southwest Pacific Theater. After the war, he became the supreme commander of the allied forces in Japan and the commander-in-chief of the "United Nations Army".

He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his performance in the Philippine campaign, and his father Arthur MacArthur was the first father and son to receive the Medal of Honor at the same time.
