Forests can absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen through photosynthesis. Forests are the largest carbon storage pool and the most economical carbon absorber on land. More than half of the carbon in terrestrial ecosystems is stored in forest ecosystems. Compared with industrial emission reduction, forest carbon sequestration has the advantages of less investment, low cost, and large comprehensive benefits. Accelerating the development of forestry and enhancing the carbon sink function of forests have become the global consensus and actions to deal with climate change.
