There is a famous saying in China: "Where there is a will, there is a way." It illustrates the importance of determination and encourages people to work hard and move forward. However truth is relative not absolute. Any truth, famous saying or aphorism exists based on certain conditions. So, is it true that "if you have a will," you will definitely be able to "achieve it"?
Since ancient times, there have been numerous examples that illustrate that "where there is a will, there is a way." Gou Jian, the king of Yue, lived for ten years and finally destroyed Wu and restored his country and became the overlord; Zhuge Kongming knew the generals of the times and attracted Liu Bei to visit the thatched cottage three times and finally became a famous prime minister. The deeds of these famous people all educate us: Only by determination can we make a difference.
With ambition, efforts will not be blind; with ambition, there will be motivation to move forward.
Many talented people in ancient and modern times, both at home and abroad, ended up doing nothing and regretting their lives because of unclear ambitions. Flying in the air is the dream of many people, but why are only the Wright brothers successful? Exploring the origin of life is the goal of many people, but why was only Darwin writing "The Origin of Species"? The key to success or failure is whether you have ambition!
However, the saying "If you set your mind, you will succeed" is not absolutely true.
There is a paragraph in Wang Anshi's famous travelogue "A Journey to Baochan Mountain": "The most extraordinary view always lies in the danger and distance. Therefore, those who are not ambitious cannot reach it. However, those who lack the strength cannot reach it either." ?As for the darkness and confusion without anything to show it, it cannot be achieved. "This affirms the importance of ambition, and also points out that the external and internal factors of things work at the same time and affect the development of things.
If the elders of the Yue Kingdom did not share the same hatred of the enemy and the King of Wu was smart and capable and did not indulge in beauty and delay the government, could Gou Jian win in one fell swoop? If the Han Dynasty ruled the world peacefully without separatist regimes and wars, and Liu Bei relied on his talent and arrogance without benevolence, virtue, etiquette and virtuous officials, could Zhuge Liang be able to reach the princes?
It can be seen that "ambition" is a prerequisite for "achievement", but it is not the only condition.
