All Israel gathered to David at Hebron and said, "We are your bone and your flesh. When Saul was king, it was you who led Israel in and out, and the Lord your God promised you,' You will shepherd my people Israel and be the ruler of Israel.' So all the elders of Israel came to King David in Hebron. David made a covenant with them before the LORD in Hebron, and they anointed David king over Israel, just as the LORD had said through Samuel.
What the Israeli people said to David was amazing. When they cried to God for their own king, God had told them that they would suffer greatly if God did not shepherd them himself. But the people still insist on going astray, so that the former king led them as he pleased, making them like sheep without a shepherd. You know, they are the people God chose for their names. Unless God commands, selects and calls His servants to shepherd them, who can really bring them comfort and hope?
King David, God's chosen shepherd, cares about his people. This description of the king's words is a strange and illusory concept to the world. Because the history and experience of the people tell us that king leaders are only vested interests, and there are only a handful of kings who really work hard and love the people. But God's mind for leaders is to love, shepherd and lead people, kneel for them, wash their feet, sacrifice for them and set them up. Such a mission and task, if not inspired from the life of loving the Lord and repenting, is impossible to complete, impossible to complete!
I really like this gentle command of the Lord-"You, feed my sheep!" " "Repentance is always manifested through obedience and obedience, and the call must be closely related to the mission. The Lord gave Peter the opportunity to participate in the project he loved, and gave him a very gentle but certain instruction-"You feed my sheep! Just like I feed them! "
First of all, every sheep is loved by the Lord himself and belongs to him. We are only responsible for love and feeding, and we have no right to choose to like or refuse, and we are not qualified to take it for ourselves. Secondly, "you" refers to you and me, who are always available to every Lord, unless we don't admit that we love him and don't want to respond to him.
Knowing the above two points can help us avoid several disasters: it can make us love without being felt; Can help us love the Lord, not just talk about it! If someone says that he loves the Lord, but he can't love his brothers and sisters, family and friends, or anyone he loves, then love has not grown! And learning how to love must never start from tomorrow! Today, now, it's time for us to start.
Pray: Lord! Thank you for giving me this honor to serve your own sheep. Please help me really understand your heart and care for them with your own love. Pray in the name of the Lord. Amen.
