Extended information:
In the chapter "Xue Er", Confucius said that smooth words are used to please people. Such a person is rarely virtuous. He obviously wants to take advantage of you, but on the surface he is very friendly with you and looks kind. People like this are typical hypocrites, who "talk sweetly but hide a sickle in their hearts." Their intentions are treacherous and sinister, and they are many times more vicious than those robbers who fight with open fire.
The sages have portrayed hypocrites very vividly, so you should not be easily deceived by them. Appearance is the shell of a person. The color of the heart inside the shell cannot be seen until it is cut open. There are many wolves in sheep's clothing in shopping malls, workplaces, officialdom, etc. We have already experienced the danger of their hearts. They are the best at camouflage. If you don’t want to become the prey of wolves, remember: people cannot be judged by their appearance.
