However, from the beginning, we accepted a very important teaching for our future development in the hotel: although you are college students, you must start with serving dishes when you first come to work in the hotel. This can be said to be a famous saying of hotel management college and even undergraduates. Before that, they didn't want to believe that a college graduate majoring in hotel management would personally serve dishes, make beds and brush toilets ... Of course, the teacher also explained to us the difference between hotel management college students and junior college students. He said that the former needs to master theory in practice, while the latter can use theory to guide practice. As far as I'm concerned, the difference between them actually lies in age and knowledge level. Relatively speaking, if the latter can correct the mentality at work, it should be better able to adapt to the working environment of the hotel and know how to solve the problems encountered at work than the former. As to whether to master theory in practice or use theory to guide practice, for a person who has never worked in a hotel, he should master theory from practice. I think the biggest difference is that students with higher education should be able to look at some complex phenomena and things in the hotel environment more objectively and fairly than secondary school students who have entered the hotel when their outlook on life and world outlook has basically taken shape.

To some extent, taking specialized courses in universities is of no practical use to our future work. It is completely theoretical (it is out of date when it can be used), and the feeling of memorizing it is no different from memorizing mathematical formulas. The only thing that makes us feel a bit like hotel management students is that we know how to pay attention to our gfd. Compared with other students in the school at that time, the students in our class should look neat, not to say that they are all well dressed. It's just that no one in the class will have long hair, wear ripped jeans, be covered in paint and rock with a broken guitar, at least no one will wear western-style sports shoes. As for those who wear black pants, leather shoes and white socks, they don't pay attention.

When I was at school, I always had a strong interest in my future career, and I always wanted to hear some experiences and things about working in a hotel from teachers or upper-level seniors. So that the only professional teacher in our class who has hotel working experience (working in Xuanwu Hotel for one year) is stingy because of the limited working hours in the hotel, and we will be very excited for a long time to talk about the hotel occasionally. However, every time our seniors ask about the internship experience in the hotel, they seem very indifferent and have no excitement at all. After working for a while, I finally realized what they felt at that time: hotel work is not mysterious at all.
