In the eight years since I was a student to the workplace, my habit of keeping accounts has come and gone, but it has been maintained intermittently and has become stable. Of course I envy the beautiful works of the handbook masters, but in terms of my own time and energy, I can only follow the simple pragmatic route. Therefore, in my current notebook, I do not use collage, tape, color ink, or hand-painting. Even so, it has still become the most indispensable partner on the road to self-growth.
(1) Personal management: A6 loose-leaf notebook + A4 self-made timeline + A5 loose-leaf notebook; tick list.
(2) Diary: Qingcheng Diary
(3) Reading/video notes: A5 loose-leaf book + Evernote.
01 A6 loose-leaf notebook
1) Specific requirements:
① Flexibility: All the fixed-leaf notebooks I have used before are not suitable for me. Over time I became a loose-leaf gangster. The loose-leaf pages can be customized, and the inner pages can be added or removed by oneself, which is very flexible.
②Portability: Most A6 size loose-leaf books on the market use 20mm-25mm rings, but in fact 8-15mm ring diameter is the most suitable loose-leaf ring. Currently, the more popular ones on Taobao are The KAZE less series uses narrow gold rings. In addition, you can also go through the customization route on Taobao. I am currently using a customized book from Benmo Handicrafts.
③Functionality: Although the sparrow is small and well-equipped, the notebook needs to have enough card slots and inner pockets to facilitate carrying tools and collecting receipts.
2) Inner page description:
①Basic configuration:
A. Title page: It uses punched cardboard, on the one hand it is used to cover the notebook In the main text, on the other hand, you can write famous quotes and aphorisms that inspire you to make a journal, or draw a "wheel of life".
B. Transparent annual calendar PVC separator page: easy to view the holidays throughout the year, more convenient than mobile phone viewing. The stiffer material can be used to attach sticky notes, pen clips or bookmarks.
C. Pocket document bag: Used to stuff various bills or sticky notes. Things with zippers will not fall out easily; L-shaped ones can put in bills that are longer than a notebook.
D. Inner page divider
②Inner pages of the text:
A. Monthly plan: further mark important dates, holidays, public account update plans, etc.
B. Habit Check-in (inside grid page): It is recommended to read "Persistence, a Habit that Can Be Developed" by Takeshi Furukawa. In this part, record the habit check-in and basic plan to be developed every month. /Alternatives, reward plans, reflection summaries, etc.
C. Reading list, movie and TV list (blank inside pages): Usually formulated at the beginning of the month and resources found.
D. Annual dream plan (blank inside pages): It can also be used to write planting lists, travel plans, etc.
02 A4 self-made timeline
Modeled after KOKUYO's self-designed daily timeline, used with post-it notes (used as a to do list/collection basket). A4 paper is printed and punched by itself, and is usually placed in a transparent folder and spread flat on the table for easy viewing at a glance. Or it can be folded and put into an A6 notebook. Replace every week.
03 A5 loose-leaf notebook
A. Mainly used for work/life project management, divided into collection baskets, meeting minutes, project management, contact information, etc.
B. Refer to the GTD method: First, collect the more complicated projects and break down the goals. If you know how to do it, just put the date in your diary; if you don’t know how to do it, just write down the methods you can think of, and then try them out one by one.
Next, start the recording process. There are two measurement dimensions: one is based on annual time (reflected in the timeline); the other is based on project completion (square Gantt chart).
Finally, put a reward system on the project to encourage self-motivation. Important dates need to be synchronized to the A6 notebook.
04 Tick-Tock List
A. When you cannot take out your notebook immediately, use tick-tock to record temporarily. B. Use it as a shopping list. C. Especially used to remind some schedules and appointments with specific time. Finally, the records in the A6 handbook shall prevail.
I often take pictures in this part, and I haven’t purchased a printer yet, so I still consider using an app to record it. The advantage of Qingcheng Diary is that it can be exported through pdf and made into your own electronic book. Consider organizing it once a year.
01 A5 blank loose-leaf book
I have used the reading notes of Jiukou Mountain, and I have also grown grass in the lighthouse. Beauty is beautiful, but it is not very practical for me - because I will read many books at the same time. Some books have more excerpts and less comments, some books have the opposite, and some books require mind mapping. In the end , a book worth reading will be read over and over again, and the feelings will be different every time. Therefore, the pages and functional sections of fixed-page reading notes are not flexible enough. It is most appropriate to use loose-leaf blank books. Just be careful not to write too much, but to be careful. Leave room.
02 Evernote
A. For WeChat articles or articles read on the Internet, use Evernote to collect them into categories and refine them with tags. B. After forming a special topic, read it a second time, organize your opinions, and output the article. C. Make better articles into e-books or print them out.
Compared with many notebook masters, I have relatively few stationery items.
Pens: roller pens, modular pens, fountain pens, highlighters, beauty pens, automatic pens
Post-it notes: A. to do list post-it notes; B. Blank post-it notes: write Leave a message or record inspiration; C. Label: Used to mark for review.
The rest is a hole punch, a dot of glue, a hole punch, etc... After all, I am a person who often moves and travels, so there is really nothing to say about this part.
I really like Mr. Lin Yutang's passage in "Beijing Smoke and Clouds", "In a person's life, there are some small things that are meaningless in themselves, but they are of great importance. After things have changed, Looking back at the causal relationship, I found that the impact was astonishing. "This is also regarded as one of the reasons why I insist on keeping a journal: Although I am not completely sure where the future will go, I can tell by looking back. The footprints of my life make the meaning of my current existence clearer, so I have the motivation to move forward again.
