Xu Jianye, a native of Linshui County, is the prototype of Xu Yunfeng in the novel Red Rock. He is a member of Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and secretary of the Labor Movement. I have been engaged in the workers' movement all my life and experienced numerous revolutionary struggles. 1938 joined China * * *, 1947 served as member of Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and secretary of the Working Committee. 1in the spring of 947, we worked closely with the party organization in eastern Sichuan to prepare for the armed uprising in Huaying Mountain, manufactured gun-making machinery and materials from the arsenal and sent them to the countryside to establish a secret arsenal. After the Huaying Mountain Uprising, he sent batches of medical equipment and medicines to guerrillas in various places, and led workers to strike continuously in factories and mines in urban areas to contain and disperse the enemy. 1April 4, 948, Xu Jianye was unfortunately arrested during the secret meeting of Ciqikou Teahouse in Chongqing, and was detained in Baigongguan and Zhazidong prisons successively. The enemy tried to open a gap in him, tortured him, and then seduced him with high officials and beautiful women. Xu Jianye was desperate and unyielding. 1948 died heroically in Futuguan on July 22, at the age of 28. In February, 1950, the Chongqing Municipal People's Government ratified Xu Jianye as a revolutionary martyr.
