How many great bodhisattvas and donkey kong are there under the Tathagata?
There are many bodhisattvas who have long listened to Buddha. Generally, Manjusri Bodhisattva is on the left and Pu Xian is on the right. Manjusri Bodhisattva: namely Manjusri Bodhisattva, a bodhisattva symbolizing wisdom. According to the Nirvana Sutra of Manjusri Bodhisattva, Manjusri Bodhisattva was born in Duoluoju under the Tianmen of Pishamen and belonged to the Van der Waals family. He was born under his mother's right armpit. He was born with ten auspicious signs at the same time. He visited immortals all over the world, looking for family laws, and 95 kinds of heretics could not argue with him. Finally, he learned from Sakyamuni Buddha and became a bodhisattva. In Mahayana Buddhism, he is the head of many bodhisattvas and is considered as the son of the Tathagata "French King". It is also the embodiment of wisdom, and often cooperates with Sakyamuni Buddha to promote Buddhism. According to legend, the Dojo of his epiphany was in Wutai Mountain, Shanxi. He is the left assistant of Sakyamuni Buddha. He wears five temples and holds a sword, which shows that he is smart and sharp. The statue rides a lion more, indicating both wisdom and courage. Samantabhadra: Brahma's name is Samantabhadra, which means universal goodness. Together with Manjusri Bodhisattva, he is the assistant bodhisattva of Sakyamuni Buddha, one symbolizing wisdom and the other symbolizing truth (Pu Xian). Pu Xian, the Bodhisattva of Hokkekyo, said: Puxian was originally a Bodhisattva in the Five Laws of Protecting Vader in the East. He heard that Sakyamuni Buddha said Hokkekyo in the world of women, which was very nice. When he arrived, the Buddha had finished reading this sutra, and Pu Xian was going to die that night, saying that he would protect this sutra. Buddha praise of Sakyamuni. The tantric religion called Pu Xian "Vajrayana" and "Bodhisattva". China Buddhism believes that Mount Emei in Sichuan is the Dojo of Samantabhadra. Bodhisattva Bodhisattva statues are mostly wearing crowns and costumes, sitting on the 16-tooth white elephant. It is said that Pu Xian has the virtue of prolonging life. So there appeared a life-prolonging bodhisattva statue of Pu Xian, praying for life extension. Maitreya. "Maitreya" is the transliteration abbreviation of Brahma's name, which means compassion. According to Buddhist scriptures, Maitreya Buddha was born in a Brahmin family in Borneo, ancient India. He is contemporary with Sakyamuni Buddha. Later, he became a monk with Sakyamuni, studied Buddhism and became a Buddhist disciple. He died before Sakyamuni became extinct. Buddha Sakyamuni once predicted that after Maitreya's death, he would lead his life to the Heavenly Palace, where he would lecture to the heavens. It was not until 5.67 billion years after the extinction of Sakyamuni Buddha that it was born from the pocket and came to the world. According to "Buddhist Sutra Generated under Maitreya", Maitreya will be born at the end of Jabbu-di Pa's Wing Head City. In the home of a giant named Xiufanmo, everything will be said as Sakyamuni Buddha, so Maitreya Buddha and Bodhisattva are also called the future Buddha. After he becomes a Buddha, he will speak three times under the Longhua tree in Hualin Garden. There were 9.6 billion arhats in the first time, 9.4 billion arhats in the second time and 9.2 billion arhats in the third time. Most of the models of Maitreya Buddhas and Bodhisattvas with potbellies we see now are five generations of cloth-bag monks, who are called late drivers, obese and often laugh. Because it was handed down as the incarnation of Maitreya Buddha and Bodhisattva, the statues of later generations are dedicated to Maitreya Buddha. There is a popular couplet in China, which says, "A big belly can accommodate things that are difficult in the world, and people who love to laugh often laugh at ridiculous people in the world." Tibetan bodhisattva. One of the four Buddhists in China. He made a big wish: "All beings will prove Bodhi, and the hell will not be empty, and they will never become Buddhas." The first volume of Ten Wheels of Tibetan Scriptures was named after "peaceful and motionless, like the earth, quiet and thoughtful, like a secret treasure". According to the book The Wishing Sutra of Tibetan Bodhisattva, Tibetan Buddhism was instructed by Sakyamuni Buddha the next day. Before the extinction of Sakyamuni Buddha and the birth of Maitreya Buddha, he volunteered to try his best to save all sentient beings and become a Buddha. According to Biography of Song Monks (Volume 20, etc. ), Dizang was originally a Silla royal family, and its surname was Jin Qiao Ming Jue. After becoming a monk, he came to China to enter Jiuhua Mountain in China during Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty. He lived in silence for decades and was in good health (reading "Meat Meat"), so he entered the tower all over. It is said that the moon in Jiuhua Mountain is the place where Tibetan Bodhisattva gets the Tao. Ten rounds of scriptures in Tibetan areas are listed in the book "Zhancha Good and Evil Cause". Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva has countless and incredible extraordinary merits, which are unheard of by all people in the world and cannot be measured by his sleep. From the past great compassion wishes, we often show infinitely different incarnations such as the body of the Brahma King, the body of the emperor, the body of Yamaraja, the body of a lion, the body of a tiger, the body of a wolf, the body of an ox and a horse, and even the body of Luo Cha and the body of hell, so as to educate all living beings to eliminate disasters and increase happiness at the request of all living beings, and to mature the good roots of all living beings, so it is also called "a thousand-body hiding place". According to the book "The Wishing Sutra of the Earth-Tibet Bodhisattva", the Earth-Tibet Bodhisattva has won ten rewards, but in order to educate the public, he is still in a place where he feels lonely and unwilling to become a Buddha. If you sincerely call the name of Bodhisattva Dizang and worship the image of Bodhisattva Dizang, you can get rid of all your worries, stay out of evil ways, and get ten kinds of benefits: a land of wealth, a house of eternal life, an early death, a new life, a desire, a fire without water, a waste of time, an end to nightmares, access to divine protection, and suffering from holy causes. Eighteen arhats come from sixteen arhats plus two, let's talk about sixteen arhats first. According to Buddhist scriptures, the Sixteen Arhats are disciples of Sakyamuni Buddha. They obey the instructions of the Buddha, never enter nirvana, live in the world and spend their lives. The earliest Mahayana translators in Beiliang and Daotai said: "The honour person of Bintou Road and the honour person of Luo Luo heard their voices-protecting the law", but did not list the names of the other 14 people. Where did the name of the earliest sixteen arhats come from? It was first recorded in the book "The Record of the Great Arahant Nammen Midoro" translated by Master Tang and Xuanzang. "Arhat" has three meanings: one is to kill thieves and thieves who make trouble; The second is "giving", which means that people should be nurtured by nature; The third is "no life", that is, no longer bound by the cycle of life and death, reaching the realm of immortality. The names of the Sixteen Arhats are: Bintoulu Tululuo Society (commonly known as "Lohan Sitting on a Deer"), Kanoga Facuo ("Lohan Celebration" and the laws of knowing good and evil), Kanoga Baluchi Lazy and extravagant ("Lohan Holding Bowl"), Suvinda ("Lohan Tota"), Nuojuluo ("Lohan Sit-in") and badra ("Lohan Crossing the River"). Garrison Boga ("Happy Lohan", meaning "Dalit" or "Rootless Man", who was an official before becoming a monk), Semitoga ("Lohan Detective", meaning "Born by the Road"), Luo Luo ("Zen Lohan", the biological son of Sakyamuni), and naga rhinoceros ("Lohan Digging Ears" The image of the Sixteen Arhats: It was drawn by later artists with their own imagination, and there was no stereotyped image. The earliest extant statue of sixteen arhats was made by Yue's wife and brother. Later, famous painters such as Wang Wei, Guan Xiu, Li, monk Zhang and so on all painted these sixteen arhats. How did eighteen arhats come from? Ancient people in China thought that "nine" was an auspicious number, so they always thought that "sixteen" was not as good as "eighteen" (two "nines"), such as "eighteen martial arts" and "eighteen bachelor"-after the Tang Dynasty, the sixteen arhats added two honorifics and became "eighteen arhats". Su Dongpo of the Northern Song Dynasty first knew about "Eighteen Arhats". He got "Eighteen Arhats" painted by Zhang, Jianzhou and Jinshui of Shu Han from the people, but did not list the names of eighteen Arhats. Pan Zhi of the Song Dynasty thought in his Buddhist Calendar that the 17th and 18th arhats should be honored and noble disciples of Ye Jia (recorded in the Maitreya Buddhist Scripture). Until the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Emperor Qianlong and Zhang Jiahutuktu Living Buddha thought that the last two of the eighteen arhats should be the dragon-descending arhats (venerable Ye Jia) and the tiger-descending arhats (venerable Maitreya). Lohan the Dragon and Lohan the Tiger are very suitable for China people's tastes, and they are imperial. Since then, eighteen arhats have been stipulated. Tibet believes that the venerable Ghazayeba is a dragon-descending arhat, and the venerable Nadamidala is a crouching tiger arhat. Some temples add Xuanzang and Maitreya to the Sixteen Arhats, or mistakenly divide the first Buddha's Bintouluo into two people, celebrating friends, and some think that the author of causal ode Mona Doro and the author of Fazhuji Timmy Doro are dragons and tigers, which are all wrong. Five hundred arhats: There are several versions about their origin. First, it refers to 500 disciples who followed the teachings of the Buddha; second, it refers to 500 monks who attended the first or fourth gathering of Sanzang in the history of Indian Buddhism; third, it refers to 500 arhats made of 500 geese (see Renyu Jing); fourth, it refers to the predecessor of 500 arhats as 500 bats (see Tang Xuanzang's Records of the Western Regions of Tang Dynasty). As for how the five hundred arhats arrived in China and their names-omitted! However, due to the large number of 500 arhats, it was difficult to distinguish their faces for a while, so that some people took the opportunity to mix in and pretend to be arhats. For example, in Luohantang of Baoguang Temple in Chengdu, Kangxi and Gan Long were portrayed as luxury night fu makers and direct fu makers respectively. In Buddhism, Siraitia grosvenorii is inferior to Buddha and Bodhisattva, so its status is lower than theirs. The place where they live can only be called "Tang" but not "Temple". Lohan's practice is very good, so it is a "golden body", but it is hard to say from the perspective of Purdue sentient beings. Therefore, the status of bodhisattvas is much higher than theirs. In order to save the world by joining the WTO, Bodhisattvas sometimes even sacrifice themselves, regardless of personal gains and losses, which are incomparable to these "Hinayana" arhats.
