The term "Nile River" first appeared more than 2,000 years ago. There are two theories about its origin:
One is that it comes from the Latin "Nil" (nil), which means "impossible". Because people in the middle and lower reaches of the Nile River have been inhabited a long time ago, but due to the obstruction of the waterfall, people in the middle and lower reaches of the Nile thought it was impossible to understand the source of the river, hence the name Nile River.
The second is that the word "Nile" evolved from the name of the ancient Egyptian pharaoh (king) Nilus. Nile - Arabic for "Great River". "Nile, Nile, is longer than the Tianhe River" is a proverb of the Sudanese people praising the Nile River.
