What is the classification of Shuo Wen Tong Xun Ding Sheng?
Shuo Wen Tong Xun Ding Sheng is not classified by radical, but by rhyme. The names of the hexagrams in the Book of Changes are abundant, ascending, pro-,modest, easy, blessed, small, important, Yu, Sui, Lu, Tai, Gan, Tun, Kun, Ding and Zhuang, which are eighteen rhymes of ancient rhyme, commanding 1, 137 syllables, with the same meaning. On the basis of Shuowen, more than 7000 words have been added, totaling 17240 words. Firstly, the original meaning of each word is verified from the glyph structure. Secondly, according to the common meanings in ancient books, it is divided into seal script, hexagram meaning, other friends, sound training, ancient rhyme, seal script sound and so on, and is annotated one by one. Among them, Zhuan Zhu is actually an extension, while borrowing is a homonym, which is different from the original intention of Shuowen. This book explains Shuowen with the same theory of exegetical phonology, comprehensively explains the meaning of words, and lists various biographical notes different from Xu Shen's. However, the shortcomings are that the materials are mostly limited to classics, and the listed passes are extravagant, and the revision is sometimes far-fetched.
