Regulations on Daily Dress Code of the People's Liberation Army

Chapter 6 of the "Internal Regulations of the Chinese People's Liberation Army" stipulates military appearance and discipline:

Article 104 Soldiers must maintain strict military appearance and abide by the following provisions:

(1) A military cap should be worn outdoors when wearing military uniforms; when wearing a large-brimmed hat (roll-brimmed hat) or training hat, the front edge of the brim should be at the same height as the eyebrows; when wearing a beret, the cap badge should be above the left eye and below the cap opening The edge is about 1.5 cm away from the eyebrow; when wearing a winter hat, the lower edge of the head guard is about 1.5 cm away from the eyebrow; a sailor's hat is slightly tilted to the right, and the lower edge of the hat wall is about 1.5 cm away from the right eyebrow and about 3 cm away from the left eyebrow; an officer's large-brimmed hat The ribbons should be brought together and kept horizontal; the wind straps of soldiers' large-brimmed hats should be tightened and kept horizontal when not in use; the elastic straps of large-brimmed hats (roll-brimmed hats) and sailor hats should not be exposed when not in use;

(2) Except for important events such as the awarding ceremony and the gun awarding ceremony and when guards are on duty, hats are usually taken off when entering indoors while wearing military uniforms; when it is not appropriate to take off the hat due to other special circumstances, temporary regulations will be made by the top commander present;

(3) Military shoes should be worn when wearing military uniforms; in laboratories, important caves and other special places, work shoes with dustproof, anti-static and other functions can be worn uniformly; shoes must not be worn barefoot;

(4) When wearing military uniforms, buttons should be fastened in accordance with regulations. Sleeves must not be rolled up (except when wearing training uniforms), and clothing, open arms, or trouser legs must not be rolled up;

(5) Wearing under military uniforms When wearing sweaters, fleece jackets, fleece vests, and cotton-padded clothes, the hems must not be exposed; when wearing shirts (underwear), the hems should be tucked into trousers;

(6) Soldiers should wear casual clothes when going out for non-official duties; military ranks and above Officers and civilian cadres in agencies, schools, hospitals, scientific research and cultural and sports units usually wear casual clothes after work; female soldiers can wear casual clothes during pregnancy and when supply workers go out to purchase;

(7) Not allowed General uniforms and civilian clothes may be worn together;

(8) Military uniforms with the markings removed shall not be worn as civilian clothes;

(9) Uncivilized patterns or words shall not be printed on Civilian uniforms;

(10) Imitation of military uniforms is not allowed.

Article 105: Soldiers’ hair should be neat and tidy. Male soldiers are not allowed to have long hair, big sideburns or beards, and their hair (wearing wigs) is not allowed to be exposed outside the cap, and the length of hair under the cap wall must not exceed 1.5 cm. Chiefs at division level and above can decide on one or more hairstyles for their personnel within the prescribed hairstyles (see the picture below for examples of military hairstyles). Soldiers are only allowed to dye their hair in a color consistent with their original hair color.

Article 106: Soldiers are not allowed to have tattoos. When wearing military uniforms, you are not allowed to wear makeup, grow or dye your nails long, wear non-standard scarves, hang mobile phones, keys, accessories, etc. on exposed belts, and are not allowed to wear earrings, necklaces, neckwear, rings and other jewelry. Except for work needs and eye diseases, tinted glasses are not allowed to be worn.
