According to the "Qiankeng Lin Family Genealogy", at the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, Lin Nanshan, the ancestor of the Qiankeng Lin family, migrated from Fujian. Lin Nanshan's identity is a "virgin scholar". There are many folk legends about why Lin Nanshan was founded here.
As the saying goes: The sun rises in Shalongzheng and the sun sets in Qiankengzhai. This proverb means that in the middle of the Qing Dynasty, there was a wealthy family named Lin in Qiankeng. In terms of transportation at that time, the Rongjiang River was an important thoroughfare. Ships from Shantou, Jieyang to Hepo and Wuhua usually stayed here overnight when they arrived at Qiankeng, and ships going down happened to be docked here at sunset.
