"When the book is used, it will be regretted, and it will not be difficult until it has been done" is a proverb, which comes from an ancient saying. A collection of couplets from "Zengguang Xianwen".
It is quoted in the 41st chapter of "The Complete Biography of Jigong": "We chatted for a few gossips and cross-examined some poems. Li Wenyuan answered fluently, and Zhao Haiming was very happy. Then the boy studied the ink and asked for Li Wenyuan wrote a couplet. When he finished it, he read it and saw that it was: 'When the book is used, it will be forgotten, and it will not be difficult until it is done. '"
Although the couplet is simple and easy to understand, it contains profound meaning. philosophy. The first couplet exhorts people to "value learning", while the second couplet emphasizes the importance of "practicing". Merely "learning" without "practicing" is ultimately useless. "Knowing" is a means, "doing" is the goal. If you don't "do", you will not be able to achieve the effect of "knowledge", and you will not be able to understand the difficulty of "things", and you will inevitably end up "talking on paper".
The words used in this couplet of exhortations are plain, uncarved, elegant and popular, and the language is natural but has endless charm.
