Gu (1893— 1987), a native of Lianshui County, Jiangsu Province, graduated from Baoding Military Academy in the sixth phase. He used to be the instructor of Whampoa Military Academy, the battalion commander of the teaching regiment and the first division commander of the National Revolutionary Army, and was known as "controlling generals and talents". Participated in the Red Army's crusade, Northern Expedition, warlord melee and "encirclement and suppression". During the Anti-Japanese War, he served as Commander-in-Chief of the Third Theater and Chairman of Jiangsu Province, and was ordered by Chiang Kai-shek to create the "Southern Anhui Incident" that shocked China and foreign countries. Among the generals of Huangpu Department, Gu was one of the "Eight donkey kong" at first, and was later listed as the "General of Five Tigers" and the "sage in the army" of the Kuomintang military and political high-level.
