Dai Bing said that the world has entered a new period of turmoil and change, with global challenges such as peace and stability, climate change and terrorism rising, and power politics, unilateralism and ideological confrontation rising. More than ever, the international community needs to firmly defend the Charter of the United Nations and demonstrate its commitment to it through practical actions.

Dai Bingguo emphasized that to defend the Charter, we must practice true multilateralism. The United Nations is a big family owned by the international community, and international rules can only be formulated jointly by all Member States. The international community should strengthen unity and cooperation under the banner of multilateralism and improve global governance on the basis of the United Nations platform. All countries should firmly support true multilateralism, and big countries should play an exemplary role, firmly abide by international commitments, firmly practice the purposes and principles of the Charter, and make contributions to world peace and development.
