So today, the Taoist temples of Jushi Lin and Jingzong Society are doing well. We have also visited other Taoist temples. We are familiar with these two Taoist temples. People chant the Buddha's name every day, and there are people teaching here every day. through. This dojo teaches sutras every day, and if it goes on for three years without interruption, it will have a certain influence on this society. Talk every day, talk for two hours every day, it’s not enough. But in today's society, two hours is very necessary. Of course, we have now moved towards high technology. Our on-site videos have been broadcast on satellite TV in many countries and regions around the world, and have been circulated on computer networks. So don’t you see, our lecture hall is full, about one or two thousand people. In fact, we don’t know how many people participated in our Dharma conference, how many people were inside the computer, how many people were in front of the screen, Everyone saw our scene. Just like the Buddha's Dharma Assembly, the number of Bodhisattvas in the worlds of the ten directions that we cannot see with our naked eyes is many times greater than the number of people that we can see with our naked eyes. This is similar. Therefore, we are truly Buddhist disciples, and we must build a monastery that conforms to the Dharma. I have also talked a lot about the monastery that is truly dharma-compliant. When the World-Honored One was alive, he set the best example for us. You see, the places where the Buddha lectured were the ashram in Rajagaha and the ashram in Gion Vihara. This is where the Buddha lectured, and he spoke more. The owners of all these ashrams are kings, ministers, and wealthy elders, and they provide them. All affairs in the dojo are also managed by them. Invite the Buddha to come here to preach the Dharma and educate all sentient beings. The Sangha does not care about these trivial matters. Inside the Sangha it is just about conducting Taoism and teaching. When not preaching to the public, people usually do internal research and discussion to eliminate all doubts and improve their own realm. I yearn very much for the way the Lord was taught in those days. Therefore, the monastery should be managed by lay people, and monks should accept the courtesy and invitations from lay people, make offerings in four ways, propagate the Dharma and benefit living beings, and never interfere with other affairs. Some monks are worried. I have no sovereignty over this dojo. What if one day they are unhappy and drive me away? In this regard, if you don’t have confidence in yourself, it’s no wonder you. Why? You have no way. The ancient ancestors often said: "I am only afraid of not having the Tao, but I am not afraid of not having a temple." If you really have the Tao, you will not be able to get it from any Taoist temple. This place doesn’t want you, and that place is begging you with kowtows and bows. What are you afraid of? What I'm afraid of is that without the Tao, this Taoist temple doesn't want you, and that Taoist temple doesn't want you either. You'll have no way out. If you build your own dojo, and the ownership of this dojo is yours, let me ask you, what kind of home do you have? You have gone home. You left your small home and found someone to put on the yoke. Wrong, big mistake. So we don’t want a monastery or a place. In fact, no one is asking me to be polite. This life is easy, happy, and even happier. You see, the tents used for camping nowadays are so ideal. There are cushions underneath, so bugs can't get in. They are zipped tightly. It's a small tent, go to a place with beautiful mountains and rivers, and sleep there at night. Look, how comfortable it is! What do I need a dojo for? It is true that we stayed under a tree for a night. At the time of Shakyamuni Buddha, we stayed under a tree without any cover. Now we have cover. One meal in the day and one night under the tree. You call this kind of life the life of gods. Why don't we live this life? Why are there so many shackles? Let you never escape the six paths of reincarnation. To do such a stupid thing and still feel complacent is not confusing and confusing. In your heart, you must give it up completely. I have always advocated that the ashram should be managed by lay people, so that our names as monks and nuns are not even mentioned, it is clean and tidy, there is no trouble, and no sin is committed. The Jingzong Society and Jushilin are a good example. You are truly learned, virtuous, and willing to raise your heart. Look at these lay people who sincerely come to make offerings. If we don’t work hard, we will feel sorry for them; if we work hard, they won’t let you go. They hope you will stay here forever; they hope you will often preach here. How can I let you go? We truly realize that the Tao is important. It is really "not afraid of not having the temple, but the lack of the Tao." The Tao is much more important than the temple, and the temple is not important. We must keep these words of wisdom in mind and follow them conscientiously. We hope that lay people will protect the ashram. There are truly virtuous and protective lay people, truly good and thoughtful lay people. They come to build a monastery, pay homage to monks and make offerings to monks. They practice and promote Taoism here, and the merits of promotion and protection are brought into full play. The four people are one family. Look at this sign. It shines brightly and illuminates the universe. We put gold on the face of the Buddha. This is boundless true merit. Therefore, I encourage fellow practitioners at home to build dojos. If one person has the strength, he can build it alone; if one person has no strength, he must gather some like-minded people to build it together. In accordance with the current general laws and regulations in society, I will run the business well, manage it well, and do the work of promoting Dharma and benefiting people. Frankly speaking, modern people's minds are obsessed with money. In the past, there was a hole in the copper coin, and they are obsessed with it. It is very pitiful and pitiful. No matter what you do, money comes first to your mind. If I build this dojo, where will the money come from? Once the dojo has been established, it needs expenses and maintenance. Where will the money come from? I always think about money, and I feel pitiful when I think about money. Yesterday, five representatives from the Malaysian Jingzong Society came to see me. They told me some of the status of the conference there. Please explain one thing in particular to me: in their current articles of association, members’ dues have been deleted. He said that after listening to these audio tapes of my sermons, he understood this matter and must not put any pressure on believers. This ashram only accepts your donations, and there is absolutely no limit on how much you have to pay in a month or in a year. , if not, delete them all. He showed it to me. I said: Yes.
Layman Li Muyuan said it well: "We have no money and no blessings. Amitabha has great blessings. If we have this backer, what's the problem?" If you want to have a strong backer, how can you rely on it? To follow the teachings is to truly rely on Amitabha as your support. I have fulfilled everything mentioned in the Amitabha Sutra, and Amitabha will give me the financial resources I need to propagate the Dharma and benefit living beings. Where do you have to worry about yourself? Worrying about running and planning by yourself is a miserable life! Don't worry about it at all. It's what Buddhism often says, "In Buddhism, all requests are answered." When I first came into contact with Buddhism, Master Zhangjia taught it to me. I trusted the teacher. I am a good student, a standard student; I obey the teacher's instructions 100%, and I will do it 100%, and I will live up to the teacher. If I have a wrong knowledge or view today and do something bad, I will think of myself as sorry for the teacher. Many classmates and fellow practitioners, you have all seen that where I live, photos of my teacher are hung together. Our students now have classes, and the teachers’ photos are hanging there in the classroom. I have been away from my teacher for decades in my life, but our spirits will always be together. The teacher taught me to repay kindness and spread the Dharma to benefit living beings. How dare we violate it? If you always have the heart to repay kindness, you will never dare to have evil thoughts or do things that go against the teacher's teachings. If we don’t disobey the teacher, we certainly won’t disobey the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are the ancestors of our teachers. If we obey our teachers in both positive and negative ways, wouldn’t we be deceiving our teachers and destroying our ancestors? To destroy one's ancestors is to look down on Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. That's what Teacher Li said before. That's not studying Buddhism and playing with Buddhism. It's an infinite sin. You can play with anything in this world, how can you play with Buddhism? You will definitely fall into Avici Hell. Therefore, as long as lay people are sincere and sincere, and truly want to promote the Dharma, save all sentient beings, stabilize society, and benefit people, Buddha and Bodhisattvas will bless and support them. All requests will be answered, and no request will be denied. Arrived. Master Zhangjia taught me this method and told me that your life is arranged by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas for you, so you don’t have to worry about it at all. I was so happy after hearing this, and I still feel happy to this day. It has been decades, more than 40 years, and I have really felt this way. I really don’t worry, I really don’t care about anything, I always respond to my requests, and my wishes come true. The teacher told me that if you have wishes and requests, but the response has not yet appeared, you should know for yourself at this time that you have karma. Quickly eliminate the karmic obstacles. Eliminating the karmic obstacles will clear the path and the induction will appear. How to repent? Truly knowing one's faults and correcting them is called repentance. Repentance means never to do it again. I know this is wrong and I dare not do it again in the future. This is called true repentance. If you truly repent, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will praise you. The saints in the world also say the same thing, "No one is a saint, and no one can have any mistakes. If he can correct his mistakes, there is no great good." It is a great good to correct one's mistakes. Therefore, it is absolutely correct for lay people to establish a dojo, just like building a school. Buddhism is about education. Lay people establish schools and form a board of directors to manage the schools. Monks are teachers. Once your school is built, you need to hire teachers. Monks are teachers. Hiring a principal is like a store. The principal is the general manager. Let him manage and teach. The boss is the director, and the property rights belong to the boss and the directors. In the temple, one person is invited to be the abbot, these deacons are invited, and these people are invited to practice, teach, and promote Dharma to benefit living beings. It's like you, the board of directors, hire some employees to run the business. This career is a career of cultivating and promoting Taoism. If you can do it in this way, it is very legal. In the past, when Buddhism was just introduced to China, it was initially supported by the state. Who established the Taoist temple? What is established by the state is the property of the state. The masters here are also hired by the state, so the masters only propagate the Dharma, practice Taoism, and do the work of spreading the Dharma and benefiting living beings.
