E.Edmund Husserl (1859~1938), a famous German philosopher and the founder of the 20th century phenomenology school. He is also known as one of the greatest philosophers in modern times. Born on April 8, 1859 into a Jewish family in Prossnitz, Moravia, Austria-Hungary (now part of the Czech Republic). Died of pneumonia in Freiburg, Germany. He earlier studied mathematics and physics, and received his doctorate in 1881. From 1883, he studied philosophy with the German philosopher and psychologist F. Brentano (1838-1917) in Vienna. As Franz Brentano and A student of Carl Stumpf, he influenced Edie Stein, Eugen Fink, Martin Heidegger, Jean-Paul Sartre and Maurice Merleau-Ponty. He taught at the universities of Halle, G?ttingen and Freiburg in Germany until his retirement in 1928. Died in Freiburg in 1938. Some of Husserl's numerous works were published during his lifetime, some were published after his death, and some are still being compiled and edited.
