Deep in Qinling Mountains
Text/Wang

Looking south, the northern mountain is beautiful and snowy, like a cloud. Every hot and unbearable season, we will think of Qinling Mountain, which is called the back garden of Xi, and we locals call it Nanshan.

Qinling Mountain starts from Tongguan in the east, reaches Baoji in the west, and runs through Qinchuan for 800 miles. There are 72 valleys at the northern foot of the Qinling Mountains, and each valley has its own unique scenery and profound cultural heritage. Suzaku Forest Park is located in the southwest of Huyi District (Huxian County) and belongs to the waterlogged valley in 72 valleys. This is the birthplace of the Lao River, with picturesque scenery and pleasant scenery, and is known as the "natural oxygen bar".

In the hottest season, go to Qinling and Suzaku, get in touch with nature, appreciate the unique features and broad mind of Qinling, and feel the ingenuity and soul of nature. Perhaps, only by walking into the Qinling Mountains and being in the mountains and rivers can we wash away the glitz and precipitate the soul.

At the weekend, a group of people left Huxian County and got on the expressway, approaching the Suzaku exit. On the rolling Qinling Mountains, Suzaku, the iconic artistic building on the top of the mountain, stands like a beautiful fire phoenix among the verdant mountains. According to legend, there is an inexhaustible Longquan in Qinling Mountains. Clear spring water flows down from the top of the mountain, forming a river called Laoyu River. The waterlogged river irrigates fertile fields and benefits the people. Unexpectedly, one year, the river flooded, which led to the dispersion of the downstream people and the poor harvest. The next spring, an unknown bird flew to Longquan, and there was no flood up and down the waterlogged river, so the people lived and worked in peace. Later, a wandering fairy told people that this bird is the auspicious bird of the Jade Emperor-Suzaku. Because of the Dragon King of Longquan, the Jade Emperor sent Suzaku to earth to surrender to the Dragon King. Since then, the place has beautiful scenery and flowers.

After getting off the expressway and entering Baliping, the Donglaoyu River flows and moistens this pure land. Here the river is open, the forest is dense and the climate is pleasant. A main road in the middle of the village leads directly to Suzaku National Forest Park. It is said that it is only Baliping from the road intersection to the entrance of the park, so it is named Baliping.

Xi 'an is the ancient capital of the 13th dynasty. Since ancient times, the Qinling Mountains have been a place where emperors and generals hunt in summer and scholars and poets travel to compose poems. With the improvement of material life and the rise of tourism, the summer vacation in Baliping is endless every summer. On weekends, every farmhouse is full, and Baliping is like a busy big market. It was crowded everywhere, and the whole river was boiling. From time to time, there are tall and powerful earth-moving trucks carrying cars full of construction waste slowly down the mountain, and the dust behind them sweeps the whole river.

Looking at the tractor in the distance, watching the noisy river, watching the endless stream of vehicles, if it weren't for the surrounding green mountains and cool mountain breeze, I really couldn't believe that I was in the Great Qinling Mountains, in the beautiful Suzaku.

Advantages and disadvantages are a pair of conjoined children. With the improvement of material life, Qinling Mountain has also changed. There are many villas, and every inch of land is precious. People in the mountains on both sides of the river have built farmhouses, rented them out or worked alone, and made a lot of money. But it is followed by garbage and river pollution everywhere. If the Yellow River is our mother river, then Qinling Mountain is our father mountain. In the long river of history, it has gone through many vicissitudes and suffered a lot, and has created a splendid Chinese civilization with its majestic body. But human beings, like the old woman in The Fisherman and the Goldfish, are selfish and greedy, which makes the leisurely Nanshan in Dow's works drift away in the years.

Baliping is located at the northern foot of Qinling Mountains. Because of the high altitude, any dark clouds will make the sky cry. It was still sunny at lunch, but it rained cats and dogs after dinner. Looking at the rain by the window, the river that was just lively was empty. At that moment, everything was calm. Qinling Mountain, like a tired mother, stands quietly at the mercy of the wind, and the winding old valley river rushes to the distance in the passionate rain flower.

The rain is getting smaller and smaller. In order to find the Nanshan in my heart, I boarded the narrow path behind the house in the drizzle. Rain is Dashan's closest companion. Everywhere, the trees are green, the grass is green, and even the gravel on the roadside has a bit of aura. Looking up, a fence came into view, cowpeas were swinging on the shelf, rain kissed shy tomatoes, and eggplant was covered with withered buds and red and green peppers, which became more lovely and attractive in rainy days. Several disobedient pumpkin vines crossed the fence and peeped timidly at the world outside the vegetable garden with small yellow flowers. Not far away, an earthen house blocked my way. Thick yellow mud walls and golden straw are looming. Small wooden windows and plastic paper used as enough paper are in tatters. Two pairs of military shoes leaned against the window lattice and told me that someone was coming.

The buildings in the mountains are as simple as the people in the mountains. The original ecological wooden door, rusty iron lock, the painting of door gods turned white by the wind, and the unkempt threshold, such as the rough character of Qin people, left a small hole on the edge of the threshold for cats and dogs to enter and leave. Although the small doorway is inconspicuous, it is enough to prove the simple folk customs of Dashan people.

A few dog barks from the mountain breeze, and listening to the drizzle is also pleasant. Walking along the path next to the house, two chickens are looking for food behind the house. When they saw me, they roared and ran away carefully. Two old men stood face to face on the steps of Xia Zi. One was wearing a white dacron shirt on crutches, and the other was wearing a blue khaki tunic suit with five buttons of different shapes, which arranged in a crooked line on the skirt. Hearing footsteps, the two old people turned their heads and smiled like children. Perhaps because of my arrival, they ended the conversation early. The old man in the Chinese tunic suit followed the old buddy, mumbling something, and repeatedly urging: Ming-Ke-Ke-Come on! The old man on crutches slowly walked down the steps, turned around and smiled, Mo, as long as Ming is still alive!

A gust of wind passed and it rained heavily again. I stood under the peach tree in the middle of the yard and aimed the camera at this weather-beaten old house.

"Ah, ... come on, be careful ... get wet! Following the sound, I saw a gray-haired aunt standing under a hole in the side door and waving to me. Her dark face and wrinkled face are like gullies on the Loess Plateau. Can't stop the heavy rain, can't stop sincerity. I ran over with my head covered, and the old man's eyes bent into a crescent moon. The house is surrounded by mountains, the small bungalow on the left has brand-new solar energy, and the raindrops are crystal clear from east to west on the clothesline. Those rain beads swished to the ground in a gust of wind. Dozens of walnut trees were planted in an open space under the river bank. Looking at the wall, the stone wall behind the house is covered with purple morning glory, like a beautiful screen.

"Come, sit down!" Aunt sat on a bench under the eaves and shouted enthusiastically. I ran to wipe the rain off my face and sat down next to the old man. In the drizzle, I saw the old man Lankaji hobbling up the steps. Her aunt grinned toothless and smiled like a baby.

Sitting on a bench side by side with two old people, pulling up the family. Old people are hard of hearing and need to speak loudly, which is known from their inarticulate conversation. They are brother and sister, and my brother has never been married. Although communication is difficult, how can I bear to be silent when I look at the kind eyes and happy smiles of the two old people?

From the intermittent conversation, I learned that my aunt's wife died many years ago and her two sons were married. Children go to school in the county and have their own careers outside the mountain. They lead an affluent life and seldom come back. Only two old people live alone. Only during the Spring Festival every year will my son take them outside the mountain and come back after the New Year. They are used to life in the mountains and can't stand the noise outside. Afraid I didn't hear you clearly, I covered my ears and gestured over and over again, looking at the direction outside the mountain. From that look, I saw the helplessness and expectation of the left-behind elderly.

I couldn't bear to watch any more, got up and walked down the steps, took out my mobile phone and stood in the drizzle, shouting to the old man: old man, look here, look here! I chose a satisfactory one to show them, and the old man smiled from ear to ear. Maybe this is the only photo in their life, but I can't leave it to them.

Perhaps, this remote small courtyard has been lonely for too long, and my arrival may be a kind of joy and comfort for this small courtyard.

Time has changed, and the times have changed. Young mountain people can no longer stay in the Qinling Mountains. They flew out of the mountains like birds and merged into the outside world, leaving only old houses and old people, leaving a homesickness in the depths of the Qinling Mountains.

What will the Qinling Mountains look like many years later? Those who have been guarding the mountains for generations have gone away. Will there be others? hear nothing of ...

The rain stopped and waved goodbye to the old man. They stood under the doorway, grinning, and their eyes were so sad that I couldn't bear to look back.
