From the original text of chapter 50 of The Moon and Sixpence;
I think it takes enough personality for a person to give up a bright future just after a moment's thinking because he sees another life is more meaningful. Take this step bravely and never regret it. This is the real personality.
The moon and sixpence.
1. It is really incomprehensible for a civilized society to waste its short life on boring entertainment.
I have nothing to say, just sitting there, pretending to listen to other people's conversations politely. Because I know these people have nothing to do with me.
3. We people are like trams shuttling back and forth from the terminal, and even the number of passengers can be estimated to be 89 to 10. Life is too orderly.
Sometimes it is happiness that makes people make noble moves. Unfortunately, disasters can only make people narrow-minded and vindictive in most cases.
