The ten famous sayings of Sakyamuni are as follows:
1. You monks, your flattering and crooked mind is contrary to the Tao, so you should straighten your mind. You should know that flattery is only deception, and those who have entered the Tao will have no merit. Therefore, you should be careful and take quality as your foundation.
2. Use the truth as a lamp and the truth as a pillar. It is not good to use other things as a pillar.
3. All dharmas arise due to causes and conditions. I say it is because of causes and conditions. When causes and conditions are exhausted, they cease to exist. I say so.
4. All conditioned phenomena are like bubbles in a dream, like dew or lightning, and should be viewed as such.
5. You monks, seek good teachers and good protection and help. If one has the thought of not dying, the thieves of troubles will not be able to enter. Therefore, you should always keep your thoughts in your mind. If you lose your thoughts, you will lose all your merits. If your thoughts are strong, you will not be harmed even if you enter the thieves of the five desires.
6. The mind should not dwell on color, the mind should not dwell on sound, smell, taste, touch, and law, and the mind should not dwell on anything.
7. If you see me with my form and pray to me with my voice, you are practicing evil and cannot see the Tathagata.
8. If you practice all good Dharma with no self, no one, no sentient beings, and no life span, you will achieve Anuttarasamyaksambodhi.
9. The heart is the master of these five faculties, so you should control your mind well. The fear in the heart is greater than that of poisonous snakes, evil beasts, resentful thieves, and fires, and it is not enough to say that it is too easy to escape.
10. In the service of shame, solemnity is the first. Shame is like an iron hook, which can restrain others from breaking the law. Therefore, monks, you should always feel ashamed and do not be replaced temporarily. If you abandon shame, you will lose all your merits. If there is a person who is ashamed, there is a good way to do it. If there is no shame, there is no difference between him and other animals.
