"Books are the ladder of human progress." -This is a famous saying of Gorky. Everyone wants to make progress, and everyone is making progress. I am no exception. Therefore, books have become my intimate friends, and my reading life has also cast a golden veil over my childhood.
My first contact with books was in kindergarten, when I was 5 years old. The kindergarten teacher gave the children a brand-new fairy tale book, and I put on new clothes carefully for fear of scratching this lovely book.
I am in Grade One, and I have a schoolbag full of textbooks. In my small bedroom, there is also a small bookcase. There are rows of books my father bought for me in the bookcase: Ugly Duckling, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and 100,000 Questions. China's four classical novels are also included. In the evening, after finishing my homework, I ran to the dormitory, dug out the books I wanted to read from the bookcase, and sat on the desk and looked with relish. I don't understand why I like reading so much, but I deeply know that books can make me progress. Books have infinite charm.
Because I like reading books, everyone nicknamed me "little book fan", and a series of funny things happened to me.
Once, I was lying in bed reading The Wizard of Oz. When I read the wonderful part that Dorothy was going back to her hometown, my grandmother's voice came: "Hui Hui, there is no salt at home! Go to the west to buy a bag! " Reluctantly, I put down my book and rode on my bike to buy salt. Along the way, my mind was full of Dorothy and her dog Toto, as if Dorothy's fate was very important to me. When I arrived at the store, I took the salt to check out, but I found a very sad and shameful thing: I didn't take the money! So, I returned to China for the first time, but it was too late to go again. In this way, I tasted a colorless and tasteless vegetarian meal.
Another time, I went to the bathroom and brought my mother's new "The Wandering Story of a Bitter Child" to enjoy. So, outside the toilet, there was such a scene:
"Sister! How are you? "
"Oh, I just read the fifth chapter. Wait a minute! "
"From the first chapter to the fifth chapter, dozens of pages! It's been two or three hours. Are you going to live in the toilet tonight? "
"... don't go out! "
Hee hee, this is my reading life. My reading life is so vivid, interesting and colorful. I have decided that I must continue to climb up the ladder of "book". One day, I will reach the peak of my life and the other side of success, where I will fully display my talent and knowledge! Isn't it?
