Plum blossom city:
Meicheng, referred to as Meicheng for short, was originally the nickname of Zhou Mu Yanzhou Fucheng.
1938:
As the official place name of Jiande County, it is confirmed.
There are different opinions about the origin of Meihua City:
The most popular is a narrative in Jiande County Records of the Republic of China: Jiande City is Yanzhou City, commonly known as Meihua City, and there is a pheasant and a half by the river.
The last reconstruction of Meicheng City Wall was in the early Ming Dynasty:
It was built by Zhu Yuanzhang's brother-in-law Li Wenzhong. As for why pheasants are made into plum blossom shapes, there has been no consistent statement. According to the County Records of the Republic of China, this is because the three emperors of the Song Dynasty all worked as local officials in Yanzhou before they ascended the throne. Yanzhou, like Nanjing and Beijing, is considered to be the location of the hidden dragon, so there is a custom of "two and a half plum blossoms in the world".
Statement:
It is generally believed that Meicheng was named to commemorate Kovu in the Han Dynasty.
There is another saying:
It is said that it is named after Jiande Shan Mei, a plum blossom unique to Jiande. Jiande Shan Mei grew up in Lengwu Mountain, not afraid of cold and dampness, five petals, white and fragrant, blooming in late spring and early summer, and unique among plum blossoms.
Mei city has a long history:
As the state capital, it has a history of 1, more than 200 years, with a long history, beautiful mountains and rivers, and rich cultural relics, which add to the charm of Meicheng and attract many people to try to solve the mystery of its origin.
