About the author:
Wilhelm dilthey (1833—1911) is a German philosopher, historian, psychologist and sociologist. Dilthey believes that the central issue of philosophy is life. Through personal "life experience" and "understanding" of life sympathy, we can realize that culture or history is the embodiment of life. He also emphasized that different life types (rational, perceptual and will) correspond to different world views, and different historical periods will have different world views, and any world view is relative, which is the essence of historicism.
