Our slogan: Don't rub the heat, only focus on the angle
It seems that the phrase "the customer is God" came into the eyes of Chinese people as McDonald's entered China. I remember a short story that was popular at that time, saying that there were two mottos in McDonald's company. The first one was "The customer is God". The second sentence is "If the customer is wrong, please read the first sentence again".
A few days ago, a female cashier in a supermarket in Ji 'an, Jiangxi Province, had a conflict with customers. After being beaten by customers, they did not choose to solve the problem through legal channels, but the supermarket came forward to preside over the mediation between them and customers. Because there is no surveillance video in the mediation room, no one knows what happened, except that the cashier walked out of the mediation room with tears on his face, and then suddenly grabbed the knife around him and ended his life.
This result was unexpected by everyone. The mediation in the supermarket was well-intentioned, and I didn't want to take this matter to the legal level to avoid trouble, but I never thought that my employees would go to the dead end. The customers who beat people relied on many people and turned a blind eye to the mediation of the supermarket and the grievances of the cashier. I wanted to let it go, and the law could not help it, but I saw that people were killed and disappeared and never showed up again. Only I am waiting for the people who eat melons to be indignant on the Internet.
disputes between supermarket employees and customers are often seen in the media and seem to be commonplace. In most cases, both sides are responsible, and it's just a dispute of words, with no serious consequences. Based on the principle of settling disputes, it is a common practice for supermarkets to choose mediation and settle disputes privately. However, the original intention of prompting supermarkets, shopping malls, restaurants and other service providers to choose mediation and settlement mostly comes from the famous saying that has been well-known by China people: "The customer is God".
Because of the lack of religious tradition, our understanding of God only stays at a high and omnipotent level. In our cultural tradition, such an elusive image is usually a monarch or an official. Since they are monarchs or officials, they have authority over people who submit to them, they can order around, and they can be unreasonable and polite. In 1792, the British special envoy Magny visited China, and after seeing the attitude of China people towards the officials at that time, he concluded that "China people are passive Nuo Nuo in front of officials, and officials are the authority to hold the power of life and death for the people." In the hearts of the people, such an official is actually obedient, and there is no respect at all in the heart, but only fear.
Therefore, in the cultural tradition of Chinese people, there is never the impression of God, only the image of an official. Even now, the domestic service industry regards customers as God, which is not what westerners understand, but redeems the body and mind with God and purifies itself. But to serve this "God" as an official in the past, and at the same time, there is no real respect in my heart, more because of the helpless perfunctory and coping brought about by the pressure of making a living.
On the other hand, because of the widespread spread of this sentence, consumers who receive services are misled to really regard themselves as gods, so that service providers can accept their demands unconditionally. As everyone knows, God is merciful. He saves all mankind, and in order to preach, he would rather exile his son, Jesus, to suffer. If customers are really God, they won't let themselves be above anyone else. He always humbly leads people to do good. Therefore, the customer is not God, and none of us is that great.
Actually, in the final analysis, no matter what occupation you do, you are a laborer, and it is glorious to earn your own living. In our country, practitioners from all walks of life are equal. Everyone cooperates and understands each other in society. If disputes and unpleasantness occur, then let rules, laws and disciplines regulate and adjust, and don't let any party be inferior, and don't let anyone be superior to others.
