The Liu family residence is located in (Tai) Hang (Wang) House, Xiwenxing Village, Qinshui County, in the hinterland of Lishan Mountain. It is surrounded by mountains and has many peaks. Coming from the Taihang area, there is a Lutai (mountain) in the north, which is higher than the peaks, and is called: Lutai is tall and beautiful; in the south is the king's house, galloping towards the clouds, leaning against the sky, looking out, with thousands of green peaks, called: Xingwu Gongcui; east curve of Longlin, next to the big stream, it is said: "Three Terraces are on the left; the west mountain is long and fertile, as strong as walking and looking back, it is said: Jiugang Youhuan; the Wuliu clan has lived here for generations." ("The Story of Yifangshan"). Xiwenxing Village is the remnant of a thousand-year-old village that began in the late Tang Dynasty and was populated by blood relatives of the Liu family in Hedong. Today, there are still 56 families living in the village with more than 220 people, almost all of whom belong to the Liu family. The family surnamed Liu abides by the ancestral precepts and does not declare their family name. For generations, their ancestors have lived in the high-class family left behind by their ancestors, in deep houses and courtyards, and have thrived for generations. Moreover, the clan members have clear teeth, their elders and younger ones are in order, their taboos are well-organized, their family rules are stable, and they are passed down from generation to generation.
In recent years, this magical thousand-year-old village where the Liu family in Hedong has lived together by blood for generations has attracted the attention of experts and scholars from many scientific research institutes. Experts and scholars such as the Institute of History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Institute of Cultural Relics and Ancient Architecture of Tsinghua University in Beijing, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, the Ministry of Construction, the China Liu Zongyuan Research Association, and the Genealogy Research Center of the Shanxi Academy of Social Sciences came to Xiwenxing Ancient Village to study "Liu's Family" Detailed archaeological research was conducted on the stele of "Zong Zhi Tu", "Hedong Heritage", "Liu Family Genealogy", as well as epigraphic documents such as Liu's tombstones, inscriptions, family training, door plaques and inscriptions. At the same time, scientific research was conducted on the name of Liu's genealogy. , and came to an astonishing historical conclusion: "At the end of the Tang Dynasty, the ancestors migrated from Hedong to Qin (Shui) and Li (Mountain)" (stele of "Liu Clan Branch Map"). So far, the people living in the Shenzhai compound of Xiwenxing ancient village have The more than 200 villagers of the Liu family are actually descendants of Liu Zongyuan, a famous writer in the Tang Dynasty. Moreover, the people of the Liu clan have adhered to the ancestral precepts from generation to generation: "Studying is the foundation, the family property should not be divided, the clans should live together, and no family clan should be established, thinking that the literati will prosper" ("Hedong Legacy"), which has been passed down from generation to generation.
The descendants of the Liu family, a once prominent Hedong family, are still rooted in their hometown in Shanxi. However, the descendants of Liu Zongyuan, who had been sought so hard by the Chinese Liu scholar community, actually lived in seclusion in the mountains of (Tai) Hang (Wang) House for thousands of years, and the Qinshui Western Wenxing of Shanxi Province in the hinterland of Mount Li was finally discovered. This major historical discovery immediately caused a sensation, filling a historical gap in the study of Liu Zongyuan in China, and providing real and reliable evidence for the inheritance of Liu Zongyuan's culture. At the Liu Zongyuan International Symposium in Liuzhou, Guangxi in September 2004, the China Liu Zongyuan Research Association announced this major discovery to the international Liu Zongyuan community, which attracted great attention from international Liu Zongyuan research experts and scholars. The discovery of Liu Zongyuan's descendants in Wenxing, west of Qinshui, Shanxi also filled a historical gap because Liu Zongyuan, a famous sage from the Three Jin Dynasties, has no trace in his hometown in Shanxi.
