"The road is long and Xiu Yuan is awkward, and I will search up and down." This is the poem Li Sao, which is the poet Qu Yuan's eternal swan song. Qu Yuan is a historical figure with a high reputation. Lisao is regarded as the originator of Songs of the South, which achieved great success and established Qu Yuan's supreme position in the history of China literature. Love me, love my dog, it is precisely because of our descendants' deep love for China's classic works that they are painted with a gorgeous emotional color, which often makes us ignore the objective evaluation of his ideological realm and political views. Over the years, our research on Qu Yuan has been like this. For thousands of years, Qu Yuan has been regarded as a patriotic poet who is loyal to the monarch, patriotic, faithful, honest and clean. Known as "although it can win glory with the sun and the moon" ("Historical Records? Biographies of Qu Yuan and Jia Sheng). As we all know, Qu Yuan is a successful poet. But as a politician, he failed. Because, the patriotism thought highly praised by later generations is essentially just a stupid idea of "loyalty to the monarch" and a manifestation of narrow nationalism. It is not an advanced ideology, and it is inseparable from the historical development trend. It is this stupid idea of "loyalty to the monarch" that doomed Qu Yuan's tragic fate all his life. Our study of history can no longer revolve around the magic wand of politics, because history is not something that a little girl can dress up at will. History is history, a fact that no one can tamper with and whitewash. Our study of this period of history and the tragic character of this historical figure is based on revealing the true face of history, fairly evaluating historical figures and taking history as a mirror.
