The eldest daughter, Qian Sixie, graduated from Tsinghua and was admitted to the Chemistry Department of Peking University. 1990 received his Ph.D. from Chinese Academy of Sciences, and has been doing chemical research in Peking University since then.

Qian Sijin, the eldest son, went to Tsinghua like his sister, but because he studied chemistry at first and wanted to study physics himself, he asked his father Qian Sanqiang to find a way to change his major, but Qian Sanqiang refused. He thinks his son can study physics in his spare time. As it turns out, Qian Sijin didn't feel sorry for his father's name. After studying chemistry for several years, I was admitted to China for a master's degree in physics by studying in my spare time, and then I went to the United States to study in physics.
