Dear teachers and students present, hello:
I am very happy to communicate with you on this beautiful spring day. This is the spirit of Paul Kochakin, the hero of How Steel is Tempered, who is not afraid of difficulties, pursues ideals and justice, and is brave in dedication. Paul's spirit once inspired me in the process of pursuing my ideal and strengthened my determination to work hard for it.
Before I speak the text, I want to declare: I am not a gifted scholar or a bookworm; I am not a "scholar" or a "scholar". I'm not smart, if compared with all the students here, I'm still stupid. But I'm sure there are no two kinds of people in the world: extremely smart and extremely stupid. I like three words best: ideal, hard work and earnest. Favorite sentence: Every day is a new beginning. These are all things I learned from the book How Steel was Tempered. One: Ideal
As the ancients said, a teenager's heart should ride the cloud. Only with a few Yun Zhi can we achieve something when we are young and gain something when we are old. There is a good saying: height determines vision, and how far the ideal is, how big the action is.
Then I saw a short story: two people were working on a construction site. A wise man came here and saw one of them working with great interest. The wise man asked him, what are you doing? He replied: I am building a magnificent church. So the wise man asked another man, and he replied, I'm laying bricks. Later, the man who said he was building a cathedral became an engineer. The other is a mason, always a mason. This story inspired me: the ambition in my heart determines my behavior.
In junior high school, the teacher asked me: What is your ideal? I replied: software engineer. I feel very strange after answering this question, because my ideal has changed several times in a year. At first I wanted to be a psychiatrist, then I wanted to be a government official, and finally I changed for various reasons. I have come to a conclusion: when determining my own ideal, I must think carefully, and the ideal established by only three passions is unstable.
After that, I re-examined my outlook on life and values. After a long time of thinking, I decided that my ideal is to be a more useful person to myself, others, society, the country and mankind. After reading the book How Steel is Tempered, I am more convinced that my choice is right. I'm not talking big: even if you do small things, as long as it is positive, you have accomplished half of the above ideal. But there are still half of them unfinished, which requires us to make more efforts and diligence. Therefore, this ideal is extremely easy to achieve but not easy to achieve, and it is suitable for everyone. When setting up an ideal, combine it with something beautiful. No matter how we change, our ultimate goal is to create beauty.
Second, strive for all-round development.
Once you have established your ideal, you must keep fighting for it. We should practice more skills and open up more roads to success. In other words, all-round development.
Since junior high school, I have actively participated in various school activities, such as speech contest, essay contest, Putonghua contest, handwritten newspaper contest, group knowledge contest, cultural and sports activities and so on. My classmate said to me: participating in these activities will distract your energy and affect your study, but I think it is good for you to participate in various beneficial activities extensively to cultivate your ability in all aspects.
Next, I want to tell a story about myself: I got 723 points in the first mid-term exam since junior high school, which makes me remember it vividly. But what impressed me deeply was that after the mid-term exam, I got a nickname "Scholar". There is some truth in this statement, and I know that most people are joking and friendly. But here's what I think: I'd rather not get this 723 than be a scholar. Because a scholar means a bookworm who is not diligent in limbs and does not care about grain. 2 1 century needs innovative talents, not scholars. We should not only study hard, but also have certain abilities in five aspects: morality, intelligence, physique and beauty. Everyone who knows me knows my life arrangement: physical education class must exercise outdoors, play football and volleyball; I run 5 to 6 laps on the playground every morning if conditions permit; I watch the news every week to learn about the world situation and the development of China. Actually, that's what I always do. If circumstances permit, I will take part in various activities.
I have a belief: study hard and be a knowledgeable person; Have a wide range of interests and be a generalist; Only by cultivating good moral character can you become a useful person. I have read a story about a wage earner who was promoted to assistant to the general manager. Because he broke the boss's expensive fish tank in a cleaning activity. At this time, the boss is away on business. He could have quit his job and fled, but he bought a new one silently and lost it. Later, the boss promoted him to assistant. What does the boss see in him? Honest and reliable. This story also taught me that a person's character is very important to his career. Therefore, I attach great importance to this point, strive to cultivate my good conduct, be kind to others, make good friends and try my best to help others. Be a useful person with both ability and political integrity in the future!
Three: do things seriously
It's impossible to just have an ideal and not work hard. To turn it into reality, we must take it seriously and work hard!
I said before: I'm not smart. I think I can only make a little progress in some aspects, because I take things seriously. If I encounter new words when reading newspaper articles, I will look them up in the dictionary to find out their pronunciation and meaning. If you read it vaguely, you still won't.
I like to find out where I have doubts. When studying chemistry, some chemical experiments are so demanding that they can't be done in school. But I think it's not good to memorize experiments, so I always want to see the real process of real experiments. Fortunately, my friend has a computer at home and invited me to play at his home during the holiday. He played games for entertainment, and I took this opportunity to look up a lot of information on the Internet: the online video showed me the real experimental process. In the future, whenever my classmates invite me to his home, I will take this opportunity to find information and dispel my doubts.
In the work of the class, I always think that all the work of the class must be done seriously for the tasks assigned by the teacher. If you work with a coping attitude, you will not only fail to live up to the expectations of teachers and classmates, but you will also be unhappy. As the leader of the students on duty, my team members and I follow a principle: stress efficiency and ensure quality. The hygiene of the class is related to the image of the class, so I must do my duty. As a monitor, I think this way: we should take care of all aspects and strive for good everywhere. Class meetings, labor and activities are actively organized and carried out seriously. Even if I don't have to do it myself, I will always pay attention.
I also love this serious attitude in other ways. Last year, our school held the second art festival. I participated in the rehearsal of five programs and the performance of four programs. At that stage, I got up early and got greedy, and I was as busy as a bee. Moreover, there is a section that just happened to catch the mid-term exam, and I really want to give up. But this idea was suppressed by me in a flash: school leaders and teachers-President Wang and Director Yang are very concerned about the art festival; Miao and Xiao Lina sometimes have no time to eat in order to rehearse this art festival, and they can't rest on Saturday and May Day holiday. They are busy with props, costumes and stage ... Compared with their efforts, my negative thoughts are ridiculous. No concentration is the last thing. I thought at that time: if I face my grades negatively, I will not only fail in my grades, but also ruin my studies and accomplish nothing. But if I actively do everything, I have succeeded in my mind anyway. The final fact is that thought and action have achieved a win-win situation.
Now everyone is listening to me. I believe that if you have read the book How Steel was Tempered, you will also feel that someone is telling you something. That is: reason, hard work and seriousness. You will succeed in the end.
Paul said: "Life is only once for a person, and a person's life should be spent in this way: when he looks back on the past, he will not regret wasting time or be ashamed of doing nothing." It is everyone's wish to have a good life, so we should set up lofty ideals, cultivate a variety of interests and abilities, and form a good habit of doing things seriously from our school days. I believe that hard work pays off, heaven rewards hard work, and the successful future must belong to you! ! !
Thank you!
