"If heaven does not give birth to Zhongni, eternity will be as long as night" comes from Volume 93 of Zhu Xi's "Zhu Zi Yu Lei".
The meaning of this sentence is that Confucius was a sage who told many truths and guided people's behavior, thoughts and morals. Only then did he have a more systematic theory of etiquette, justice and integrity, so that the ancient Chinese would not be ignorant of etiquette, integrity and shame. Etiquette education enabled ancient Chinese people to break away from primitiveness, continuously develop towards the unique nature of human beings, and get out of the primitive and ignorant state.
Confucius had a profound influence on later generations. Although he "stated but did not write", he was already known as the "Sage of Heaven", "Muduo of Heaven" and "Eternal Saint" during his lifetime. He was the most influential person in society at that time. One of the most learned men.
Later generations also respected him as "the Holy Saint" (the saint among saints) and "the teacher of all generations". They believed that he had studied "Poetry", "Book", "Ritual", "Music", "Four Books", the preface to "The Book of Changes" (called the Ten Wings of the Book of Changes, or the Biography), and the author of "Spring and Autumn". "The Analects of Confucius" is one of the classic works of the Confucian school, compiled by Confucius's "Spring and Autumn" disciples and his disciples.
